Reliable sources
When adding material about medical or biomedical issues, WP:MEDRS applies. This standard recommends that primary research (i.e. experimental results published directly by the experimenters) be given less credence than secondary research (survey articles that evaluate the results of multiple primary research results). - I've discussed the matter at length at Talk:Cyanovirin-N, but briefly, if you want to make claims that cyanovirin-N is an effect preventative for HIV, you'll need to cite journal papers that have surveyed multiple primary research reports to assure that the results are repeatable. Also, as in the case of your reference to Bewley and Otero-Quintero's article in Methods in Enzymology, it would help if the articles you cite actually exist.
