Request for copyediting

Hello. Would you be interested in taking a look at the Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song article and doing a copyedit on it? The sections "Music," "Editing," "Response" and "Legacy" look great, but the rest of the article isn't quite up to standards. This article could be a great GA and eventual FA, but it's not quite there yet. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 14:05, 10 June 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Can you help?

I see you were listed as a participant in the League of Copy-Editors so it seems likely. The thing is the Military history wikiproject urgently needs prose pros to help with our best articles. Milhist covers a broad range of interesting and varied subjects from film to biography, battles to weaponry, and Roman emperors to twentieth-century dictators. In Milhist, A-Class has become the last port of call before FAC and we are looking for people to help identify prose and MoS issues at A-Class A-Class Reviews and help fix them prior to featured article candidacy. We also have a copy-editing section in our Logistics Dept and that can always use experienced copy-editors. For most of our articles, you don't need to be a specialist in the subject matter, just good with words.

If you think you can help, please do! Thanks for your time, --ROGER DAVIES talk 03:43, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there SGS,

Really my only involvement was to help out AVM with a technical issue - How to edit a redirect. I really cannot say if Sibi Blazic is sufficiently notable to have an article of her own. AVM seems to believe that she is, so I guess it is up to AVM (or others) to add content to demonstrate notability or risk having the article deleted or returned to a redirect to Christian Bale.

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Calling all active WP:NOVELS members

WikiProject Novels Roll Call

WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!

Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 13:38, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Christian Bale

The article has now been protected and hopefully a mediation cabal should be getting involved in the frequent debate over what Christian Bale should be listed as in the lead line. Please air your views on the talk page. Thanks White43 (talk) 11:28, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
