Hyperfine structure
Hi! Thanks for your contribution to the Hyperfine structure article. However, your changes are either altogether incorrect, or so poorly worded that I cannot consider the edit constructive. Me again. I thought I might've been overly harsh in my last comment - I didn't want to discourage you from contributing in the future. What I was really trying to say it that you re-worded a paragraph that was perfectly fine, and made it sound (at least to me) a lot more confusing. I also appreciate that you wanted to mention the fact that the hyperfine splitting alters atomic spectra, but that is already implied in the first sentence of the article by "...leading to small shifts and splittings in the energy levels of atoms, molecules and ions...". Therefore I don't think it needs to be included again within the introduction. Lastly, in your edit you say that "Hyperfine structure [...] results from the variations found in the nuclear properties of various species of elements (e.g. isotopes). These types of hyperfine interaction is generally referred to as the Mass Effect." First of all, that is a fundamentally incorrect description of the cause of hyperfine structure; secondly, as far as I'm aware there is no such thing as the "mass effect".
