Please note that assertion of authorship or of permission to use text is not enough: for one thing, we have no way to be sure that someone on the end of a wire is who he says; for another, Wikipedia's license terms are very broad, permitting readers to copy, modify, and re-use for any purpose including commercial, and it is essential that the copyright holder understands and agrees. Therefore the process described above must be followed if the text is to be used.

It may not be worth doing that, because text written for other purposes may not be suitable for an encyclopedia article - for instance, it may be too promotional in tone, or may not give enough background for the general reader.

Also, a single source is unlikely to be enough, because Wikipedia article subjects need to have notability, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."

There is good advice on how to write an acceptable article at WP:Your first article, and you may find User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard helpful for background.

Speedy deletion nomination of Cajal Blue Brain Project
