The article Bibhuti Bhusan Deo has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. 1989 (talk) 00:26, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Sanghamitra Mohanty/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Copyright, notability and conflict of interest

Information icon Thank you for your interest in creating an article for Odisha Bigyan Academy on Wikipedia. There are multiple problems with your submission. You cannot post copyrighted material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. In short, a copyright owner cannot offer Wikipedia a one-time license for use. Rather, the copyright to the material has to be released – permanently and irrevocably – into the public domain or under a free copyright license that is compatible with Wikipedia's licenses. This is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, so all content must be licensed for that purpose. You can learn more about this policy at Wikipedia:Copyrights.

The second problem is notability. I am not sure the organization you are writing about is notable enough, as Wikipedia defines it, to have an article. We require write-ups in reliable third party sources such as newspapers, magazines, or online publishers to establish notability. New articles about persons or organizations that are not notable are typically deleted.

The third problem is conflict of interest. Writing an article about your own organization or that of a client is strongly discouraged, as it is difficult to maintain the required neutral point of view.

If you'd like to use the copyrighted content in an article, you can follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission on how to obtain the proper licensing. If you are the copyright holder, refer to Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for how to grant us permission to use your content. Alternatively, you could write a new article that does not closely paraphrase the material available online. However you would then still have to abide by the conflict of interest guideline, and even so, there is a likelihood that the article may be deleted due to lack of notability. In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

I'm sorry this message could not be more favourable. If you have any questions, you can leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:37, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Odisha Bigyan Academy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Disclosure of employment

Information icon

Hello Sanghamitra Mohanty. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Odisha Bigyan Academy, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Sanghamitra Mohanty. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Sanghamitra Mohanty|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:57, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Undisclosed paid editing

Information icon

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Odisha Bigyan Academy, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Sanghamitra Mohanty, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Sanghamitra Mohanty|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:24, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sanghamitra Mohanty (talk) 04:58, 3 January 2018 (UTC)I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for the edits.[reply]
@Sanghamitra Mohanty: There is off-wiki evidence that suggests that you hold a position with this organization. I am not allowed to post it here per Wikipedia's policy on WP:OUTING. Are you saying that this is an unpaid, volunteer position? --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:33, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am the Honourary President of the Odisha Bigyan Academy. State Government selects among reputed Scientists for this position. It is quite a respectable position. I am a Former Vice Chancellor of North Orissa University and a Retired Professor in Computer Science of Utkal University too. So have done it myself realising the importance without taking any money (No payment at all). Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi and Indian Natioanl Academy Engineering (INAE), New Delhi are such Academies and those are appearing in Wikipedia, which can be checked. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sanghamitra Mohanty (talkcontribs)
@Sanghamitra Mohanty: Thank you for clarifying your role with this organization. Your explanation is satisfactory.
However, I would still advise that you not write about it. Your involvement with the organization constitutes a conflict of interest (COI). While Wikipedia does not prohibit persons with a COI from writing about a topic, we highly discourage the practice. This is because you will find it difficult to write about it from the required neutral point of view, use information taken only from third-party sources, and not rely on personal knowledge or experience.
If you still believe this topic merits a standalone article, you could try the Articles for Creation process. This will allow you to create a draft article, at less risk for deletion, which can then be submitted for review by an uninvolved editor. After they review it, they will either publish it to the main article space or send it back to you for revisions. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:29, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply. The strength of being transparent is always welcome. I like to mention that the issue of Odisha Bigyan Academy appearing in wikipedia has already been discussed and approved by the Executive coucil of Odisha Bigyan Academy. However I will place the matter in the Editorial Board of the Academy scheduled on 09.01.2018 and then after I will get back to you with the transparent and neutral content about esteem Odisha Bigyan Academy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.19.193.134 (talk) 15:52, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That is nice, however you must know that your board's approval is not required for an article to be written here. Anyone may create an article about any topic as long it is reliably sourced, neutrally worded and sufficiently notable for inclusion.
That leads me to another point you should be aware of. If an article about Odisha Bigyan Academy is accepted at some point, your organization will have no right of ownership or editorial control over its content. No one "owns" content on Wikipedia. If you create or edit an article, others can make changes, and you cannot prevent them from doing so. In addition, you should not undo their edits without good reason. Disagreements should be calmly resolved, starting with a discussion on the article talk page. Consensus is Wikipedia's fundamental model for editorial decision making, and is marked by addressing legitimate concerns held by editors through a process of compromise while following Wikipedia policies.
P.S. Please ensure that you are logged in. If you remain inactive on Wikipedia for several hours, your session will time out and you be logged out. If you are logged out and make edits, you will instead by identified by your IP address instead of your username. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 18:35, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
