I urge you to improve the Loeb article. If it was worth doing, it was surely worth doing well.Historicist (talk) 22:19, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Historicist[reply]

i couldnt agree more - so be patient please

Here's the thing. Many people put up articles on non-notable people, to promote themselves, or whatever. So there are diligent editors who keep an eye out for new pages, and put an AFD tag when they spot one. The way to avoid that if you intend to work on an article for a few hours or days is to put {{under construction}} at the top. In a case like this, you can put put {{hangon}} at the top and on this talk page explain that you are working on the article. Some editors tend to forget that some of us are new and unaware of the nuances fo the process.Historicist (talk) 23:08, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Historicist[reply]
Hi, just wanted to let you know I've withdrawn the AfD. As Histrocist stated above, I'm a new page patroller and a big chunk of my time is being on the lookout for pages that obviously don't belong on the encyclopedia, but this was not a cut and dry case and I jumped to conclusions big time. I'm really sorry, I should have given you more time to develop the page rather than taking it directly to AfD. I hope I haven't discouraged you from contributing, all this needs are a few more references to establish verifiability. If there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask. PS: It's generally not a good idea to put statements such as "if you know anything about Loeb, please share the information" in the article itself. This sometimes can raise red flags, or be interpreted as an attempt to contact the article's subject (which can be grounds for speedy deletion.) Statements like that are great on the talk page, it encourages other editors to contribute, just not in the article itself. Proposed deletion of Anton Loeb

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Anton Loeb, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Trainthatwonamedal.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Trainthatwonamedal.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:18, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
