Texas A&M University medal

Hi - thank you for leaving a note on the page of new editor, Martifleming. He just came to the Teahouse to ask about how best to support his edit. As you'll see, I explained it could well be reverted until evidence is forthcoming. I believe this was a genuine edit, but it's well outside my experience to support - any help you could offer him would, I'm sure, be much appreciated. See Teahouse thread at Wikipedia:Teahouse#New_Article_-_Congressional_Gold_Medal,_Paul_C_Fleming. Regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 21:36, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

please confirm whether Bromopentacarbonylrhenium(I) compound is a inorganic compound or organic compound. Because the lead of the article describes it as a inorganic compound. but at the end it is categorised as a organorhenium compound.--கி.மூர்த்தி (talk) 02:25, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Organometallic compounds are inorganic compounds by definition because they contain a metal. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 10:52, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator account security (Correction to Arbcom 2019 special circular)

ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.

Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.

We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.

For the Arbitration Committee, -Cameron11598 21:04, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators will no longer be autopatrolled

A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Given that you have resigned as an admin, feel free to let me know if there are any user rights that could help you with whatever work you need. Happy to assign whatever I can given this wasn't "under a cloud" or anything of the sort. Just ping me whenever. --TheSandDoctor Talk 07:53, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
