Hello, I'm Ronz. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.

See also WP:COI in case it might apply. --Ronz (talk) 15:33, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ron, as I mentioned in a previous message, the information is not for self promotion / advertising. Najat is a known lecturer & researcher on the matter. What I can do is find the references against the statements on her website and edit the content accordingly.

Thanks for following up with me.
First, I realize the notice is a bit confusing. It's the best standard template that fits the situation, but it's not by any means ideal. I've been tinkering with creating something better to the situation, which I encounter on a daily basis. Most editors don't bother to respond at all, so I do appreciate yours.
The problem isn't the intention of the material, nor your intention with adding it. The problem is that the sources are from a self-published website, where the intent there is to promote her and her work. And even if the website wasn't intended to promotional in nature, such websites are rarely found to be reliable sources in situations like this.
Additionally, you've chosen to present her and her work as examples without providing any sources demonstrating that it deserves such prominence, and you've done so across multiple articles.
You're a new editor and have bumped into some of Wikipedia's most complicated policies (WP:NOT, WP:NPOV, and WP:BLP). The welcome message I added to the top of this page gives a great deal of guidance for learning about editing Wikipedia. I'm also happy to elaborate on anything I've written, answer questions you may have, or point you to venues most appropriate for getting others' opinions on the situation. --Ronz (talk) 04:46, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
