Adopt-a-user

Hello. Back in May 2014 you added an "adoptme" template to your User Page. Since that time you appear to become extremely active on Wikipedia, with over 10,000 edits to your name up until your period of activity in October 2017. So I wanted to let you know that I've taken the liberty of removing that template, though you can of course revert my edit any time you like if you feel you do still want to seek 'adoption'.

My reason for doing this is because the Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user scheme automatically generates a list of every user who still has that template on their pages. Adopters use that list to help them find people in genuine need of assistance. I've manage to whittle out the inactive users and experts, reducing the list of names from over 100, down to under 30, which is a lot more manageable for people to find adoptees from. Obviously we still have the Teahouse should anyone want to ask individual questions, as well as a couple of more technical helpdesks, too.

So, my apologies for editing your own user page. I hope you understand why. I'm just trying to make a failing system work again in the interests of all users in need of support and guidance. If you do still genuinely want to be adopted, just reinstate it there. Regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 14:49, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
