Please help me with... Michael A. Arbib
I'm a novice, but am trying to respond to the complaints about the list of publications (books written and books edited) on the page "Michael A. Arbib". I need guidance about whether I should replace the current items such as
*Brains, Machines and Mathematics (1964, 1987) ISBN 0-387-96539-4
with something more like
Michael A. Arbib (1964). Brains, Machines and Mathematics. ISBN 0-387-96539-4. Also available in Polish...
That is, using a"cite book" template instead of the template-free version that's there now.

- Yes, replacing informally formatted citations with proper citation templates is universally considered to be a good thing! — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 03:10, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- I should clarify that if all you are doing is providing a more complete citation using the citation template, you can generally forgo the {{edit request}} process. This sort of replacement is not the sort of thing that gets COI editors into trouble. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 03:14, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
COI
As requested on what I think is the talk page for the Michael A. Arbib Wikipedia page, I hereby state my potential conflict of interest.
I was a Ph. D. student of Michael Arbib's, receiving the degree in 1970 at Stanford University. I did publish a joint paper with him in 1975, I believe. I have had only slight contact with him for the past 45 years, but am reasonably aware of his work.
