Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Professor Robert Spillane. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

OK, it's not actually Professor Robert Spillane here - it's Katherine Owen and I'm his publisher. I'm trying to create a Wikipedia page for him and I've used his CV, so I'm not sure how this is a conflict of interest.....what am I doing wrong? I would strongly advise you not to write it you have a VERY clear Conflict of interest If he is notable someone else will write it. A CV is NOT a reliable source for Wikipedia. We need multiple reliable secondary sources that report on him in depth. Theroadislong (talk) 11:09, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
