Copyright violation

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions to the Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya article, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Perhaps you would like to rewrite the article in your own words. For more information, take a look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Happy editing! --Ragib 07:13, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:MVisweswaraya.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:MVisweswaraya.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih 07:37, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:MVisweswaraya.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:MVisweswaraya.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:10, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of CRBT

A tag has been placed on CRBT, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 07:05, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pradeepsinghhbti,

I thought you should know that I redirected that article to Wedding anniversary per a number of Wikipedia policies and guidelines, most notably this one and this one, which basically state that Wikipedia is not a dictionary, particularly for made-up terms.

While I don't have any problem with your article being a redirect, it simply can't remain as it is, as it violates those policies and guidelines as well as the basic policies of verifiability and no original research that are the foundation of this project. If you want to publish this term somewhere on the internet, I think UrbanDictionary would be much more appropriate.

I'll give you a little time to read through this message and the accompanying guidelines, and then I'll change the article back to a redirect. I strongly suggest you leave it as such, as the next step would be to send it to Articles for Deletion, which would certainly result in it being deleted for good. I've added a template below that will introduct you to our basic policies and guidelines, and you should feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Thanks! --jonny-mt 06:38, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
