Nickname

I presume your nick refers to the Stanley Holloway monologue, by the way, "Sam, Sam, "Pick Up Tha' Musket", which according to that article he wrote and performed from 1928 – I should have put it slightly later, if asked on a quiz). I have, somewhere, the collected works of his lyrics and songs, if you wish me to patronise you. Marriott Edgar wrote many of the monologues, including, I think, ""The Lion And Albert". The poet Horace said "A liar should have a good memory". I am not a liar, my three tenets in life are do not hit, do not lie, do not cheat: But I have a good memory. I do not even have to look this up to know this: I only look it up to add the refs for the ISBNs and so on (I don't sit there memory reading ISBNs). Si Trew (talk) 20:59, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it does. It was all I could think of back in 2010. LOL Pickuptha'Musket (talk) 09:50, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I just noticed it for the first time ever on the project, and came here for exactly the reason for this thread. That Holloway monologue is wonderful, and you made a wonderful choice for a username, back in 2010. Thanks. -Roxy the dog™ woof 16:48, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

AFC/R requests

Please note that you can create redirects yourself. May I suggest you do this, instead of submitting requests to a page intended for IP's to request redirects are created, as they cannot create pages? Thanks, Mdann52 (talk) 07:36, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nick

I like the nick, I assume your real name is Sam. Stanley Holloway, IIRC. Si Trew (talk) 22:12, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct Simon. Pickuptha'Musket (talk) 11:14, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You owe me a penny then. I shall put it on the account. Si Trew (talk) 20:26, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Your recent editing history at Gibraltar shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Suggest you follow WP:BRD. WCMemail 23:45, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
