Asian Medical Students' Association

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the article Asian Medical Students' Association, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition was deleted under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:29, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: I deleted the article because, even though you may be an official of AMSA, unless the website clearly states that the content is available under a free license, it can not be copied into Wikipedia. I can not restore the article because doing so would be copyright infringement. Please see Wikipedia's FAQ for organizations on what you should and should not do on Wikipedia for your group. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:40, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Asian Medical Students' Association, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Asian Medical Students' Association and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Exxolon (talk) 12:55, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
