Proposed deletions

Hello, Peter James,

Thank you for find appropriate articles to redirect the articles that had been proposed deletion to. I think that is a much better solution than deletion but PRODs don't get as much attention for our editors as articles that are nominated for deletion at AFD. I appreciate you tracking down so relevant articles that are associated with articles that have been PROD'd. Liz Read! Talk! 21:16, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources on 'Out of the Blue (System F song)'

Hi,

I just wanted to ask about an edit you made to the page Out of the Blue (System F song). You added an 'unreliable sources' template, but I'm unsure on which sources are 'unreliable'. Most of the article is based on interviews with the writer of the song, making it first-hand information on the topic. The source I would think is least reliable is the note about the 'Essential Record of Week', but I still don't see a small fact like that as a cause of alarm for the whole article. Could you please clarify which references you thought were not appropriate?

Tedster41 (talk) 08:26, 09 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think the main reason was the use of Discogs as a source. Sources 4 and 5 ("Spirit Of Adventure" and "Tsunami") are not good sources for the "Background" section, and I don't think Source 13 (https://www.discogs.com/release/2118203-System-F-Out-Of-The-Blue-2010) is usable. Source 14 is probably acceptable if it's using the track listing of the record (from the "More images" link). Interviews are probably reliable but not independent, and as the other sources are chart databases or don't mention "Out of the Blue", the article has no references to significant independent coverage. Invitation

Hello Peter James, we need experienced volunteers.
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, it basically boils down to checking CSD, notability, and title). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us.
  • If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions. You can apply for the user-right HERE.
  • If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message at the reviewer's discussion board.
  • Cheers, and hope to see you around.

Disambiguation link notification for February 7

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Arrochar Alps, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Càrn Glas. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 17:51, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from Bodulgate, which you proposed for deletion. (Sources listed on article Talk page. May not be enough to support the article. Worth a wider discussion). If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}} back to the page. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Rupples (talk) 11:16, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Peter James. Looks as though I've made an error in de-prodding this. There appears to be two Bodulgates and the sources I've put on the talk page are for a different location. Not sure what to do. Apologies for the inconvenience. Rupples (talk) 11:41, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The archaeological source does relate to this farm. The manor of Bodulgate is part of Boconnoc civil parish, to the south. Rupples (talk) 11:55, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
