Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Pensacola State College, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 21:44, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The source was from my supervisor who is the Director of Marketing of Pensacola State College. How do I reference that? Any advice would be great. PensacolaStateCollege (talk) 21:47, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I responded to the message you left on my talk page. I hope it outlines why your edits will not fit Wikipedia. The director of marketing is biased, and absent outside sources reporting on facts, they may not be notable. signed, Willondon (talk) 22:32, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Our Director of Marketing "may be biased" on how many students and employees we have? What our college motto is? So you think that the information about PSC from 2011 may be more accurate than what our Marketing Director has provided in 2023? You do understand how ridiculous that sounds, right? We would like to updated the very outdated information regarding Pensacola State College that reflected on Wikipedia and would appreciate it if you would stop reverting our updates. You should not be directly editing about your college; instead, please make formal edit requests(click for instructions) on the article talk page(Talk:Pensacola State College) detailing changes you feel are needed. First, you will need to change your username as outlined below, and make the Terms of Use required paid editing disclosure. 331dot (talk) 14:15, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This kind of logic is why the information on this page is so incorrect and has not been updated since 2011. 108.59.17.3 (talk) 13:50, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Assuming you made the above post by an IP, Wikipedia is not necessarily meant to have up to the minute current information. It is meant to provide a historical overview of the topic, summarizing independent reliable sources. This does not mean we don't strive for accuracy- we do, but typically this is done by independent volunteer editors unaffiliated with the topic. Representatives of the topic must contribute according to all relevant policies. 331dot (talk) 13:54, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, editors involved with the article topic can effect changes to improve the accuracy and currency of the article. It can be done by posting on the article's talk page, so that it is considered by disinterested editors. signed, Willondon (talk) 16:33, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.
You must also comply with the mandatory Paid contributions disclosure if you are unblocked. Cullen328 (talk) 00:57, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
