Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Tyrian purple may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "<>"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 18:41, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - can I ask that you read WP:BLP as this is a biography of a living person. It would need a lot more sources to verify the material. There's also Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies). Wikipedia:Writing better articles has a lot of general advice and you would benefit from seeing the bit about 'tone'. All of those will help you write better articles.

The next issue is that you need to show notability. See WP:PEOPLE. That's a real problem here. There's nothing that shows notability by our criteria. There's the award for his thesis but that won't help. It's likely to be deleted if you can't show notablity. We have a couple of processes for this. Admins can delete any article that doesn't show any evidence of notability, but the usual process is WP:AFD. I've just seen two articles deleted because the editor couldn't find sources meeting our criteria at WP:RS and discussing the subject in detail. Dougweller (talk) 14:57, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for this excellent advice. It is merely a work in progress. BTW, I've already read BLP but I'll read it again. I understand about the notability issue and the tone issue. His book did make it to Amazon's top 100 non-fiction book list. I will have to find a way to verify this.
