All references to Kumbakonam are completely unattributed and are nothing to do with the Kumbh Mela's mythical origins. The Amrit fell in four locations, and not five! Kumbakonam wasn't one of them.

This looks more like a bit of local promotion from someone in the area of the Kumbakonam festival trying to big-up their festival. I have seen travel companies and individuals try to associate a number of festivals with the Kumbh, including the Ganga Sagar mela. This is at best a bit of misguided civic pride: at worst an attempt to hook their own festival (or festival tour) onto the Kumbh Mela so it shows up better in searches.
