Peer Review - Sam Thompson

This article has a lot of room for growth. Right now, it does not look like much information was given on the Flores Scops Owl. It appears that there is only a brief introduction written on the current page. In this lead of the article, however, it is clear that the information was written well. There is a clear display of what animal is being discussed in the article, and helpful information, like the name and the endemism of the Owl is given. Something that could benefit the article would be to create a section that clearly labels "Introduction" or "Background," something that will give the reader a better idea of what section of the article they are reading. If more information is added to the lead, then I believe the information in the article has the potential to be quite balanced. There is still a lot of significant information that needs to be added, and with a work in progress that will always be the case. I presume that habitat loss and conservation will be the main points in this article, which is great. It is important to have a focus that relates to current events. In addition, the content presented seems to be very neutral, with no bias at all. You have done a quality job of just implementing fact, and not opinion. Finally, your sources appear to be reliable. There is a clear scientific source, along with two other sources used for the background on the naming and other basic information on the animal. This is a very solid beginning to the article, and I look forward to seeing future writing.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Flores scops owl, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 20:24, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
