Attempting to add non-notable salted names to articles

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to attempt to make disruptive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Piedmont Virginia Community College, you may be blocked from editing. OhNoitsJamie Talk 10:52, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting choice of words OhNoitsJamie. Out of all the terms that could describe the individual in question, I think "non-notable" is especially unsuitable (to the point of being absurd) considering this alumnus of Piedmont Virginia Community Colege is one of the most documented internet personalities ever — albeit by unsavory elements of the WWW you or I would rather not associate with. 'Notable Alumni' sections are supposed to include all notable individuals who studied at the school/college/university in question regardless of how this may reflect on the present reputation of said institution. My edit was carried out in good faith and I am genuinely concerned that whoever got this particular name salted may have an un-wikipedian motive or interest in the article as entries about Universities and Colleges are prone to PR edits.
Undoing my edit because you suspect it might have been done in bad faith would be understandable (however misguided) but outright assuming so and issuing a subsequent warning for disruptive editing could only be described as ignorant and excessive. Don't bother trying to report it to Wikipedia:Edit filter/False positives/Reports; the filter is working as intended. There is a strong consensus that the individual's name not be added to Wikipedia, we routinely block users who persist in attempting to add it. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:54, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is the intention of this to prevent harrasment? Odoacer Rex (talk) 16:03, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
