Information icon Hello, I'm Cmr08. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Stephen McNeil seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. While your info is sourced and adding policy is ok, the section still has to be written from a neutral point-of-view. Listing negative sounding policy or statements, and then following up by listing the more positive sounding NDP policy makes the section sound like an NDP campaign ad. Please re-add in a more neutral pov, and because this article has nothing to do with the NDP, their policy doesn't belong in this article. Cmr08 (talk) 22:10, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. Was just presenting recent policy statements by Stephen McNeil. In all cases they were direct quotes and were referenced. I will eliminate any language that mentions political parties or any comparisons to other political parties.

I know they were direct quotes and referenced but that's not the point I was making. When you add nothing but negative sounding statements to a policy section, it can appear to be not neutral. There must be a balance, you can't just add what the subject won't do if elected. The new version you added is somewhat better than the first since you left out the blatant NDP campaign advertisement, but a couple of the statements you made appear to be taken out of context. All I'm trying to do is keep the article neutral, I couldn't care less what party or MLA the article is about. Cmr08 (talk) 19:30, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Do you seriously think that using a 15 second video posted by the Nova Scotia NDP is neutral? It was obviously posted on youtube to attack McNeil. All we know watching this clip is that the statement was made, we have no idea what led McNeil to make the statement or the context in which it was said.
