Censorship

Why are legitimate references to Shinya's books being erased? Why is there suddenly some concerted effort to question the credentials of the doctor who invented modern Gastroenterology? The truth is most important, and veritas is to be trumpeted.

Me reverting you

Sorry about that. I only saw your latest contribution come up on vandal patrol, and it was restoring a bad contribution before. I even went back to check everything was alright, but evidently the history page hadn't updated yet so as to show my contribution. Anyway, check out WP:REVERT. I had assumed as much. I figured if I put an explanation in the edit summary, you would understand. Thanks for the link on reverting. I guess I had known that that was how one could revert, but I always thought reverting was something with a specific button or function that accomplished it, just because everyone uses the same edit summary template. Now I realize it's a manual process with a standardized edit summary convention. So thanks again. Cheers. Nik-renshaw (talk) 08:12, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, in fact, there are buttons, but they're usually reserved for administrators and long-time users who vandal patrol (e.g., twinkle). The Evil Spartan (talk) 06:06, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gender neutral pronouns

I saw your question on the 500 game talk page. See the Wikipedia:Gender-neutral language section linked from the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Maybe read this discussion if you want: Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Archive (gender-neutral pronouns). Gender neutral is preferred. Thanks Group29 (talk) 18:09, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rook and Pedro

Hi. What I had in mind for similarities is that the 5 of trumps counts in Pedro and the joker is used in a variant called "dom pedro" or "snoozer" (though it's the lowest trump). Not that this is a source, but I'd bet a nickel that Parker chose 5s to count in rook because of pedro. So just about everything in rook is found in skat or some form of pedro. I left out other trick-taking games I know of because they're played for tricks rather than points (whist family, euchre family) or because they have a melding phase (pinochle, piquet) or, obviously, because most of the points are negative (hearts). What do you think?

By the way, do people really say "Rook Bird card", not just "Rook"? —JerryFriedman (Talk) 00:39, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

mammal discussion

Thanks for your involvement and comments at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Mammals#Capitalization_re-visited. Just for completeness, would you care to add your vote to the tally at beginning of the discussion? All the best. Beyazid (talk) 17:31, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
