Italy - Coronavirus infected

Sorry can you explain me the math that you used to get 79? I'm very confused, I believed it was max 67. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.161.124.92 (talk) 23:04, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This was the official statement of the President of Italian Civil Protection: 54 cases in Lombardy, 17 in Veneto, 2 in Emilia, 2 in Lazio and 1 in Piedmont, plus three cases in the past weeks = 79 (LaRepubblica) -- Nick.mon (talk) 23:08, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bernie pic

Hi Nick.mon

There were two discussions about the pic for Bernie [1], [2]. The image that i am replacing in on other pages is the one wiki editors went with in the talkpage for the main page. As other candidates have the profile pics in their infoboxes on pages about them as kind of the main pic, and a generic one for other pages too, i feel that should be replicated with Bernie as well. Plus this pic has a better aesthetic look. Bernie has a broad smile and a calmness to him. Ping me if you want to discuss further. Best.Resnjari (talk) 23:57, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Don’t worry Resnjari, I understand your point of view and I agree! -- Nick.mon (talk) 00:13, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nick.mon. Its all good. Best. :) Resnjari (talk) 07:09, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nick! I wanted to ask you whether you could check the colour of one country, namely Uzbekistan, which looks to me of a slightly lighter shade of orange with respect to the others. Also, since we're here, could you briefly tell me which tool do you use for making these maps? If I knew of an easy way I would do these edits myself! Cheers, Ritchie92 (talk) 10:13, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ritchie! Yes, you're definitely right, Uzbekistan's color is clearly lighter than the other, but I didn't do that, another user uploaded a new version of "my" map and I don't know which tool he used. My version was much simpler and I used only an app for MacBook :) -- Nick.mon (talk) 10:38, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gabbard picture

Hi Nick.mon, Please visit the talk page for the primaries before changing the Gabbard picture. The one you have used since October is not aesthetically similar to the pictures for other candidates as she is the only frowning candidate. Thanks.Davemoth (talk) 06:30, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Davemoth: Hi, excuse me I didn’t see the discussion, however in my view we can use your photo, but we should crop it, its dimensions are too different from the others. -- Nick.mon (talk) 08:29, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Proper attribution of copy-pasted content

Hi Nick.mon. I have noticed that you often copy content and paragraphs between articles of Wikipedia. This is not wrong in principle, however the important thing is to signal and record the proper attribution in the edit message, and add a proper template in the talk page. You could have a look at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia for the details and explanations. Cheers, Ritchie92 (talk) 14:04, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Ritchie, and excuse me, you told me many times, but I always forget to do so... Thanks -- Nick.mon (talk) 14:09, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Another tiny thing: "copyedit" does not mean what you think, copy editing is the process of cleaning up a text. Anyway, you could use the example edit summary in the page Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and write Copied content from [[<page name>]]; see that page's history for attribution in the comment. --Ritchie92 (talk) 10:00, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2020 coronavirus pandemic in Italy

Hi, I was just wondering if you could help updated the article so that it is more accurate.

The coronavirus actually started spreading undetected in Italy as early as 21 January 2020 through the 38-year old man in Lombardy, who got infected by a friend who returned from Wuhan China. There are news articles which talk about this man being asymptomatic for weeks and having spread it during his active social life before going to the hospital and further spreading it.

The right side information bar is also inaccurate because it says that the arrival date was 31 January 2020.

Thanks for keeping wikipedia accurate! Penseess (talk) 21:39, 6 April 2020 (UTC)penseess[reply]

Progressivism

Hi, Nick.mon. I see you added progressivism to the list of ideologies for the Democratic Party of Korea. I think this debatable given the party’s stances on LGBT rights and same-sex marriage. I also was wondering if you could please give your input on a similar discussion here - Talk:New Democratic Party#Should we include progressivism?. Some editors such as The Four Deuces seem to think we should not include progressivism among the ideology list in infobox's at all. I welcome your thoughts on both issues. Helper201 (talk) 20:05, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Helper201, I added progressivism only because I saw it in the Korean article about the Democratic Party. I must say that I'm not a great expert in Korean politics so I would certainly not be a reliable source :) -- Nick.mon (talk) 20:19, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Map of the outbreak in Italy by confirmed new infections per 100k people (14 days preceding July 24)

Hi Nick.mon, you have edited the newly available map about cases in 14 days in this article. It's generated daily and not different from other countries' articles. Given that we're some months into this now, cumulative maps since February/March make it increasingly harder to spot ongoing changes or get an idea about the current situation. I didn't put it first, like the US, but still think that it's a valuable visualization of official data, that should be included in the article. -- Xplus1 (talk) 08:21, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A small translation request from Italian to English

Hi Greetings,

I was looking for help in a paragraph's translation from Italian to English from an Italian traveler's account to be used in Draft:Avret Esir Pazarları#Traveler's descriptions (an article about Ottoman times women slavery)

I made this request to you since you seems to have edited article Italy in recent times. Please do help you feel interested in the topic.

Thanks and warm regards

Italian lists

Hello. If you insist so much on your preferred table format for List of secretaries of Italian Fascist parties, then please implement the same format at List of commanders of the Blackshirts. Those two lists are closely connected, and should be formatted in the same way, for the sake of consistency... Also, since you are more versed on Italy-related articles, please consider adding some more references to both lists; they certainly need more references than what they currently have. Cheers, —Sundostund (talk) 01:13, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sundostund, you’re right, I’ll do it. And thank you, I always appreciate your work. -- Nick.mon (talk) 09:15, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate how promptly you re-formated the Blackshirts commanders... Please, try to find some more sources for these two articles as well. —Sundostund (talk) 21:40, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. If you have time, could you check the edit today to the article. Is it better than the original? Thanks Denisarona (talk) 15:10, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Denisarona, well, tecnhically they are all "political offices" and the Prime Minister is a primus inter pares, however we have articles in which the Prime Minister's position is "separated" from the other cabinet's offices, while in some others they are in the same "section". I don't know, maybe we should keep a distinct section for the PMs, but I don't have a preferred opinion; I would only use the same format for all the Italian PMs. -- Nick.mon (talk) 15:18, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. It was just that the older versions distinguished the Prime Minister's office from other ministerial offices. Thanks. Denisarona (talk) 15:26, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
