Addicted to Noise

Hi Neumu, thank you for your work on Addicted to Noise. Following your recent edits there, can I ask you whether you are in any way affiliated or connected with ATN or Michael Goldberg? If that is the case, please note Wikipedia's Conflict of interest guidelines and be aware that Wikipedia is not a place for advocacy. (Also, if you are Michael Goldberg, I admire your work!) Thank you, Brycehughes (talk) 05:49, 17 October 2013 (UTC)It's[reply]

Hi Bryce Hughes, Yes I am Michael Goldberg. That said, I've been a journalist for over 30 years. It's standard that if someone has created something, and you write about it, that you include what that person is now doing. I came up with every creative idea related to Addicted To Noise from the name to hiring Frank Kozik to do the original logo and art to conceptualizing what would be included in ATN and naming the columns and different areas of the site. I arranged for all interviews that ATN did and I personally conducted most of them. I could go on. If somebody actually goes to the ATN entry at Wikipedia, it is because they are interested in getting some info about what might as well have been called Michael Goldberg's Music Magazine. What I am currently doing, since it is in many ways so close to what I did with ATN, would be of interest to them and is relevant to an entry about ATN. Also, ATN was the first web music magazine, and as far as I know, it was the second magazine of any kind on the web (Hot wired beat me by a few weeks, as I recall). My idea to develop a web music magazine was innovative and unprecedented at the time. I got awards from Yahoo and others for ATN, and as you know, Newsweek included me as one of 50 influential people in digital media, calling me an "internet visionary." Pitchfork, Stereogum and all the other music blogs were influenced directly or indirectly by what I did with Addicted To Noise. So what I'm doing now is relevant and would be of interest to someone going to the Addicted To Noise entry.
