I would invite you to rewrite (condense, clarify, whatever) the opening I contributed to the Jazz article rather than simply junk it. The article is so huge that it needs some kind of overview at the start: otherwise the reader wades through thousands of words about 1920s arcana without any clue about what jazz is or why anyone would care: & the description of improvisation only occurs right at the very end after 43K of material! I may not have dealt with these problems ideally but just reverting the piece doesn't help improve the article one whit (& it's already one that many people have suggested needs an overhaul, which is what I was trying to respond to in the first place).
