Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added to the page Electric motors do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - Neparis (talk) 22:14, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to external links, I see it has no violation, valuable, relevant, and free for visitors. Please tell me why it does not comply with guide lines, don't give me links please.--Motos (talk) 00:52, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spam or not

Thank you for registering, Motos (a.k.a. 217.53.109.235, 82.201.156.201, 217.53.107.168, 217.53.16.164, 62.139.238.152, 213.212.221.17, 82.201.156.179, 82.201.156.111, 82.201.156.99, 217.53.16.168, 217.53.16.133, 84.36.187.95, etc.).

As discussed at [[1]], you have repeatedly inappropriately added links to your various websites to: AC motor‎ Brushless DC electric motor DC motor‎ Electric motor‎ Electronic speed control‎ Electrostatic motor‎ Induction motor‎ Linear motor‎ Motor Motor controller Reluctance motor‎ Repulsion motor‎ Stepper Stepper motor Synchronous motor‎ Synchronous condenser Unipolar motor‎ etc.

Your links have been removed as spam by User:Neparis, User:Rsteves00, User:ClueBot, User:147.83.26.153, Me, and others. You continued to add them back repeatedly with no discussion.

Aside from plopping links to your sites in various articles, you have made no contributions to wikipedia. (Please refer to Wikipedia:Spam#How_not_to_be_a_spammer #2.)

Despite your claims that the links are useful and appropriate, you have:

  • Listed them as sources in articles they were not used as sources in
  • Added them to disambiguation pages where they serve no purpose
  • Added them to pages that have nothing to do with the topic.

Clearly, your only intent is to promote your websites. (Also see Wikipedia:External_links#Links_normally_to_be_avoided #4, 12 & 14.)

As these are your websites, a clear conflict of intrest exists. In such cases, it is usually a good idea to [[discuss the link before adding it. Repeatedly ignoring the issue and readding the link is generally a bad idea.

Speaking for myself, I would understand if some other editors were a bit more vigilent in some of these articles, given the number of single-purpose accounts and sock puppets repeatedly spamming these articles. Mdsummermsw (talk) 14:40, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

May be it mistakenly added to inappropriate pages, but it also has been added to appropriate ones. It is good and relevant website (electojects.com/motors), and that what you don't want to accept.--Motos (talk) 15:04, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I titled my addition to this page "Spam links" because we are talking about WP:SPAM, not "links" in general.
You seem to be making no effort to substantially discuss this issue, merely stating again and again the address and your claim that it is the greatest website in the history of humanity. This being the case, I am going to follow the concensous of several other editors and repeatedly remove your several links from whatever articles you add them to.
Given the current situation (you say one thing, everyone else has disagreed), I would suggest you take this to RfC. Failing any substantial change over the next few days, I'll ask for the links to be added to the Spam blacklist (which will block them from all of wikipedia).
Over the next week or so, I'll be looking for other links you may be adding to other articles, removing any similar violations elsewhere and, as needed, asking for blacklisting.

I stated my website to let people who may read this discussion know about which link/website we are talking about. I am not a spammer and won't be. If I was a spammer I won't talk with you or anybody else in the first place, and the blacklist won't frighten me, there are many ways to bypass it and you may know.
If you all consider my recent IP adds are spam, they are removed now anyway. Ok, I am a new user here and I am asking to add that website link to Electric motor article as it relevant. And that will not my last contribution to Wikipedia. Motos (talk) 01:40, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why not copy the information from your website to the Electric motor article? Then there would be no need to link to your website from Wikipedia because the information is already in the article. Remember Wikipedia is not a directory and not a guide. - Neparis (talk) 02:39, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Are you asking me to forget about my website and my visitors!, add to that, these are copyrighted materials.--Motos (talk) 18:19, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We are asking you to either contribute to wikipedia in accordance with its guidelines and policies or not contribute at all. Wikipedia is not the place to advertise your website. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 19:07, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Electric motor. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. - Neparis (talk) 23:36, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
