Recent additions

Unless you can provide more context for the pages Galicia and Ludomaria, Eupen-Malmedy, Banquibazar & Cobelon, and Queen Maude Land, they will be deleted. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 14:22, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes and please also do so for the (I think) football competition results you are uploading. I can't tell what they are or what they are for. Thanks. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 09:38, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Banquibazar & Cobelon, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the relevant issues at Talk:Banquibazar & Cobelon. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Pan Arab Games

Welcome!

Hello, Mooo, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

What you're doing on the Pan Arab Games is looking good so far; it's definitely good to have this information on Wik. I think your pages would be more useful if you were to categorize them properly, as well. Also, on Pan Arab Games, it would be good if you wrote a little blurb describing the history and prupose of the games (not just a list of medal recipients). If you have any questions about how to do this stuff, leave a comment on my talk page, and I'll be glad to give you some pointers.

Article creation

I have been looking through the list of unwatched pages (available only to administrators) and found 1953 Pan Arab Games and others. I see that you created this but were not watching it. You may want to go to your preferences and under the "editing" tab turn on "Add pages you edit to your watchlist". This will enable you to keep an eye out for any edits that are made to pages you create and help to revert vandalism. If you do decide to turn it on can you please drop me a note on my talk page so I can cut down my excessive watchlist (6000+). Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 18:38, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because I saw your contributions on many of the articles, I wanted to ask you to please see the note on Talk:All-Africa_Games#Proposed_article_name_cleanup -- MrDolomite | Talk 22:06, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:100face.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:100face.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih 07:29, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:100 LE.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:100 LE.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image tagging for Image:Dr.Muhammad Fouad Doha.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dr.Muhammad Fouad Doha.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. Fair use rationale for Image:100LE.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:100LE.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 15:10, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Mooo!!! I just saw that you created the article Vice President of Egypt and the article List of Vice Presidents of Egypt. I had originally intended to created them, but did not do so because I could not find any online source listing all of Egypt's vice-presidents. Where did you find this information? Please note that all articles on Wikipedia should be properly cited and referenced, otherwise the material may be removed. Regards. BomBom (talk) 23:18, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Sami Hafez Enan, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.mmc.gov.eg/Commanders/chos/default.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of Sami Hafez Enan

A tag has been placed on Sami Hafez Enan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. I am looking to see whether this work can be moved to Wikisource. To do that I need some further information. Can you identify the source of the work, especially with regard to the English translation? Without the knowledge that the translation is in the public domain with regard to copyright, then it is hard to anything with the work. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:36, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Football at the Central African Games has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Violates WP:Sports event. Also lacks notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
