I Quit

I did a lot of work adding maps to lines of the south east, but all I got was hassle, criticism, abuse, reversion etc. etc. Wikipedia could be a nice place ... if only the other editors weren't such an egotistical, big-headed lot. I feel totally unappreciated for the amount of time I have put in to trying to improve articles. I submit ... and I quit. Miner2049er 19:06, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Miner2049er, sorry to see you go. (And I am sorry, really, in case you think I'm not.) Wikipedia has a whole lot of faults with its model for creating an encyclopaedia, of which one is the simple fact that it's a fairly anonymous online community and so you get all the misperceptions/silly edit wars/spam etc. that go with it. Another fault is that people don't get rewarded for doing right, but get a kicking when they're perceived to be transgressing. The maps you've added for various lines will still be around for a few years as they very clearly add to the articles. (Inevitably things will get chopped around and changed etc. but that's Wikipedia!)--A bit iffy 21:25, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the above: the edits you made to West Coastway Line have certainly improved the article! You should remember that when people offer you a suggestion or a piece of friendly advice, it's certainly not meant as hassle, criticism or abuse, as you put it. Adambro's comments are in no way a reprimand. But if you choose to see things that way, then so be it. --RFBailey 21:46, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I hope you don't think I'm being unpleasan by reverting your amends. I appreciate your effort, but as it's a route map for the NCL, I think it's just confusing adding in other routes that happen to run close by, but don't actually intersect. Hope that's OK. Keep it WP:CIVIL please. I was polite to you, your response was uncalled for. DrFrench 21:25, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Use preview please

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In the future, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again. Adambro 18:34, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As you wish it. I shall cease editing the West Coastway Line.Miner2049er 18:40, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I certainly don't ask that you stop editing any articles. I'd just recommend that instead of making a large number of small edits, you use the preview button to see the effect of your changes and only save once you've made all the required changes and are happy with them.
