Warnings added to User talk:Majiqmud

Hi, I see that you added various warnings to User talk:Majiqmud. However according to the user's contributions[1], he has not made any of the edits you described. I have left the warnings as they are but I would be grateful if you could justify your reason for adding these warnings. ThanksTbo 157 11:43, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Once a page has been deleted then that page no longer appears on that user's contributions page (at least when viewed by a non-administrator). All the pages referenced had been created by that user and had CSD tags added, with them now being deleted. You should be able to validate this by requesting an administrator to check the deletion logs for these pages.--Mendors 12:07, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Please accept my apologies. I have never dealt with deleted articles in the past.Tbo 157 12:14, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

why?

Why are you the authority on this that makes you capable of blocking/editing/deleting at whim? (Unsigned comment by Philsmith79)

  • Anyone can edit just about any article on WP, nobody owns any article other than their user page(s)
  • Only administrators can block or delete.
  • You will be referring to the page Benôit del Cañones which I tagged with a speedy deletion note indicating that the page was about a non-notable person (it had already been deleted and recreated a few hours ago).
  • For information about notability I suggest you read WP:NN. It also would appear that you are writing about yourself, in which case WP:COI also applies. For the speedy delete, if you would like to contest it you should follow the instructions in the notice, simply deleting the notice from your own page is seen as being disruptive.
  • If you've any more questions I'd be more than happy to answer them.--Mendors 02:37, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

"go eat shit fuckers"

The reason I made the redirect was not out of vandalism, but to protect from vandalism. The website that it redirected to uses the phrase as an inside joke. I can garentee you that unless the page is protected it will be recreated. Not only that, but Fisher-Price should also be semi-protected because it is the new Atlantic Records. User Signature

Why may not have user signature like Roded86400 10:12, 15 August 2007 (UTC) in articles? Roded86400 10:12, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Signatures are added to talk pages, not main article pages.--Mendors 10:15, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Mood FM

Hi Mendors,

I just wanted to say thank you for the message you left, I was just wondering how I could improve the page as I am seeking not to advertise the radio station but to provide factual information of the broadcasting environment that existed and now exists within Jordan. I understand that the information placed within the pages need third party referencing but I only ask that you bear in mind that previous radio stations have, up until recently, been under government ownership. Hence this is a relatively new subject. Lastly I ask if you may take the time to tell me as a reader what sounds biased in your opinion so I can alter it. Thank you for your time and consideration, any information you may be able to provide me with would be of a great help to me.

Many thanks San 10:03, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

For the conflict of interest tag, I added that as from your user name there appears to be a strong connection to the indicated ownership of the radio station. I would suggest you read WP:COI to see how there may be issues with someone too connected to the subject matter writing about it. I'd also suggest that you provide some third party references to establish notability as at the moment the only references are those directly connected to the radio station.--Mendors 10:33, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Dear Mendors,

As I mentioned before third party references will be added as soon as possible. I understand in retrospect how a user name which is associated with the location and a sited buisness name may seem biased. Nevertheless I am not in a position of trust for any of the companies mentioned and I certainly have no competing professional or personal interests. Allow me to ask you a hypothetical question, if I was to change my name to Jordanmusicrocks and edit the article would i still be considered too connected to the subject matter? From reading the page you suggested it talks of the person’s interest and connection with the subject matter and not about the person's username's connection to the subject. lol trust me if i could go back and change my name I would :) but it doesn't necessarily flag up a WP:COI I believe all the companies mentioned in the articles have contributed to Jordan's economy, its outlook and the various lines of Communication between the West and the Rest on various levels politically, socially and economically. This is why I believe it is important for these stations to be mentioned, if only on a factual basis. Lastly, would you be so kind as to highlight which sentences you feel may be biased and I will happily alter them.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon. San 12:17, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for taking a few days to get back to you.

I totally understand your reasoning about how the choice of a username may make the linkage to the WP:COI non-existent. However given your choice of username, an independent party would probably assume the possibility of a possible conflict, very much in the way that you might consider the possibility a possible conflict with a publicist for an actor.

And it is possible to change your username, which needs an administrator (I'm not one) to make the change. For more info about this, have a look at WP:CHU.

I'd add to the article some references from third parties for facts like when it opened, etc.

Other phrases that are best to avoid are things like "...it can be said...". Who said this? Ideally it should have a reference.

"...refined music..." - I'm not sure that refined is appropriate here since what may be refined to one person is not to another. Perhaps it would be best to remove the word and substitute something more aligned with the category(s) of music.

For the logo, there needs to be a fair use rational - see the text on the page when you click on .

I hope that helps answer your questions.--Mendors 23:40, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
