Your GA nomination of Disposition effect

The article Disposition effect you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Disposition effect for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Thank you :)

Billie Lourd image

Hi, Meatsgains - Would you mind closing the infobox image RfC at Talk:Billie Lourd? It's quite clearly a consensus for image #2, don't see any reason to keep it going at this point. Better to get the consensus photo in than allow the unappealing one to remain. Thanks! -- ψλ 16:28, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

@Winkelvi: Done! [1] Meatsgains (talk) 02:53, 24 January 2018 (UTC)

Andrew Neil Maternick, who goes by "Andrew Neil" is a very prolific songwriter, who started writing songs following a head injury (car accident) in the spring of 2009. He has written nearly 350 songs since then.

I followed up and contested your deletion recommendation. I have seen Musical Artists with far less information and notability than Andrew Neil...especially in the "outsider" music category. Cheers....Ray

Please provide additional reliable sources establishing notability because it looks to me like the subject is only covered in local media outlets. Meatsgains(talk) 02:23, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Denomination effect

The article Denomination effect you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Denomination effect for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Meatsgains, thank you for your efforts in reviewing new pages!
The NPP backlog at the end of the drive with the number of unreviewed articles by creation date. Red is older than 90 days, orange is between 90 and 30 days old, and green is younger than 30 days.

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
  • We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!

New Year Backlog Drive results:

  • We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
  • Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

Not sure what happened with this nomination. Does the page curation script not usually identify and create 2nd nominations when needed? This is second time I've seen it happen to someone this week. WikiVirusC(talk) 03:27, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

Yeah, I noticed that as well. It should, and I thought it would be automatically corrected. Not sure whats going on. And if the result of the 1st AfD nomination was keep, where is that original page at? Meatsgains(talk) 03:30, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
G5 Speedy deleted few months later, although I can't figure out who that creator was, as I assume his talk page with CSD notice was archived to page history after ban. WikiVirusC(talk) 03:59, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Strange... We'll let the AfD play out, which looks like its on track to be deleted again. Meatsgains(talk) 20:56, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

fishy

This Aleks Susak AfD that you started is a good one, but I think there is something fishy all around. I keep having to remove pay-to-play promotional blogs from the article, and the AfD voters are dead set on including them, even though they are terrible sources.104.163.148.25 (talk) 03:08, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

These sources [2] and [3] are certainly poor and should not be included so thank you for removing. I don't see enough coverage in RS for the page to keep. Two editors support keeping the page but their arguments are not convincing. Meatsgains(talk) 21:07, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Speedy Deletation of Alo Bastralay

Dear Sir, I don't want to challenge your speedy Deletion and go against you. I want you to know that Why this is included in Wikipedia. It may not be a Big Company like Google or Amazon but a small company and is a seller on Amazon and Google verified too. People is eager to discover facts about this company. That's the region I wrote a article about this Company to Wikipedia. If you think this is not a valid reason to upload this article then you may proceed and if you feel it should be there in Wikipedia, please delete the speedy deletation. The decision is completely yours. I am blessed to talk with you and will be eager for your reply. Kindsouvik 06:16, 19 February 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kindsouvik (talkcontribs)

Being "a seller on Amazon and Google verified" does not establish notability. Meatsgains(talk) 16:45, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Cutiepinky"

"The love between Harjol and Hong Taiji" should included in Wikipedia because it is apart of Chinese History, and a lot of professor did research about it. And it is part of history about Harjol which was Hong taiji's wife. People should know more about her. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cutiepinky (talkcontribs) 04:49, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

I believe the reason I tagged the page for speedy deletion is because you failed to provide reliable sources for support. Meatsgains(talk) 02:17, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion

Hi Meatgains, regarding the speedy deletion of the Fergie (DJ) Discography, it is a new article creation that I have mistakenly published instead of saving as a draft. Can you advise how to depublish it and return it to a draft? If this is not possible I will bring it up to an acceptable standard asap. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Henryofh (talk) 09:43, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

Meadow's Movement infobox

Hi there!

I saw you delete the infobox for Meadow Pollack on the Meadow's Movement page. Could I ask why? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisrow (talkcontribs) 20:10, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

Because a page about a activist movement should not include an infobox for a person. Plus the page already had an infobox. Meatsgains(talk) 16:38, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion for "List of TV Show Episodes featuring Time Loops"

This article should not be speedy deleted as having no substantive content, because i added content after the tag was added, and i plan on adding more over time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Devedani (talkcontribs) 21:22, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

You need to create the draft in your WP:SANDBOX before uploading to the mainspace or else it will be speedy deleted again for lacking context. Meatsgains(talk) 00:11, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

FYI

Hello M. Thanks a bunch for your work using reFill. I just wanted to let you know that, while the various versions of the of the "bare url" tags usually get removed by the program, there is one (at least) that it misses. If you look at my edit here you will see an "LR" version of the tag. It has to be removed manually. If you don't catch it isn't a big deal as I, or someone else, will zap it but I did want to let you know about it. Cheers and enjoy your week. MarnetteD|Talk 00:01, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

Shoot - I'm typically pretty good about removing the tag after using the tool if it corrected all the bare urls. Missed this one though. Thanks for the heads up! Meatsgains(talk) 00:06, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
You are welcome. I'll warn you that the editor(s) who use this one can put it in some weird places. My example was at the top of the page but I have also found it tucked in at the bottom of the infobox and (a time or three) at the end of the lede. Thanks again for your work here at the 'pedia. MarnetteD|Talk 00:13, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
I've noticed that! I'll be sure to do a better job of reviewing the pages for tags after using the tool to cleanup bare urls. Meatsgains(talk) 02:59, 21 March 2018 (UTC)

I have unreviewed a page you curated

Thanks for reviewing Toby Hansen, Meatsgains.

Unfortunately Natureium has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

(The problem with deletion tags automatically marking the article as patrolled, is that someone comes along and removes the tag and a bad article is already marked as reviewed.)

To reply, leave a comment on Natureium's talk page.

Speedy Deletion

Hello, Meatsgains. I will add cite more information to the article in the future. This is my first attempt at Wikipedia and I am having some issues with it. I appreciate your commitment to Wikipedia, as people like you are the reason I appreciate Wikipedia articles so much. I will put a substantial amount of work on the page for the future. I would love to receive your feedback when it is completed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jbaumeis (talkcontribs) 01:34, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

I'd be happy to help out on your next page. Unfortunately, Jack Baumeister is not notable enough to warrant a page. Let me know if you ever need any help. I'd suggest creating your next draft in your WP:SANDBOX before uploading to the mainspace. Meatsgains(talk) 01:48, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy Deletes keep this a commercial free zone - does it make paid for editors sneakier

>>I am grateful for the speed at which this article was scrutinized. I have always been a supporter and advocate of a Wikipedia which is free from intrusive commercial influences. I am also not a paid editor - but that may be more evident than ever.<< Bw Schulz 03:45, 30 March 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bwschulz (talkcontribs)

The article was tagged for deletion because it lacked significant coverage in reliable sources thus, not notable. The next article you create, I suggest you draft in your WP:SANDBOX before moving to the mainspace. Meatsgains(talk) 18:05, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

New Page Review Newsletter No.10

Hello Meatsgains, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.
