The Love-Ins

Hello and thanks for adding the article on The Love-Ins. I've tweaked your original entry to include some of the standard formatting but here are a few hopefully helpful tips for you (and from what I understand, other people in your class!)

  • As far as the name of the article is concerned, the default should be The Love-Ins (which is where I've moved the article). In some cases, you'll find that an article with that title already exists. The next option is The Love-Ins (film) if the other article is not about a film and The Love-Ins (1967 film) otherwise. When that happens, you might need to create some sort of disambiguation mechanism and you can ask for help at Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation.
  • Films are usually accompanied by an infobox, namely {{Infobox film}} (pretty straightforward to use).
  • The policy regarding copyrighted images (in this case the film poster) is notoriously difficult to understand for new editors. I've fixed the rationale in your upload (and you can now disregard the previous warning). Again, you'll find plenty of people to help you out if need be.
  • On the talk page of the article, you might want to add {{film}}. This will add the article to the list of pages overseen by WikiProject Films. But I think that there are bots that automatically do this for new articles that contain a film infobox.
  • If possible, categorize the article.
  • In the same spirit, try to include incoming links. Without categories or incoming links, the article is likely to remain in the great Wikipedia dead-zone of articles that nobody ever stumbles across.

Well, that's it for the introduction lecture. :-) Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. Pascal.Tesson (talk) 21:40, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
