Response to email

Hi Michael,

I read the www.mkpress.com/flat page as being fairly promotional. It lists first an amazon review (that is not in itself notable as far as I can tell), the table of contents (not exactly encyclopedic) and then links to other reviews and commentaries (which I believe are better listed in the Wikipedia article directly if they are appropriate). Did I miss some other content or do we differ on whether or not this is appropriate?

If I missed something could you let me know what? If we differ on whether this content is appropriate for an external link we should take the discussion to the article talk page where other editors can add their thoughts and we can develop a consensus.

I didn't mean to remove the whole book. Sorry about that. I'll add it back. -- Siobhan Hansa 18:14, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Links

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. [1] --Ronz (talk) 16:10, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion.
