Japan/Costa Rica without army

I don't read Spanish, but believe your source is incorrect. Here's a link to the constitution of Japan, promulgated in 1946 and enacted in 1947, which abolishes any war-time force. http://history.hanover.edu/texts/1947con.html I can't find a source that compares the two directly, and am not that familiar with wikipedia mores to try an edit again.     - Hi, thanks for looking into it. For further clarification, I think there's absolutely an argument to be made that Japan today has an army. More precisely, the Japan Self-Defense Forces page states that in 1950 the government created a National Police Reserve, which could reasonably be called an "armed force." But it also states that after 1945, Japan had zero military capability, and as you know this was constitutionally prescribed in 1946. What I'm pushing for is that even if Japan recreated its army in the 1950s, the statement "Costa Rica was the second country to constitutionally abolish its armed forces" holds true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.144.183.24 (talk) 08:58, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      - You made a good point, but it is kind of weird because Japan was without army for only for 9 years, CR still does not have one today. A good solution will be simply to state that CR constitutionally abolished its army in 1949, and delete the "first" part. However, I think we should move this discussion to the CR Talk page to give other editors the opportunity to comment and bring more facts. I will do so copying this entire section. Hong Kong

Hi, I did try to discuss Hong Kong in the talk section ages ago but no one replied. If you had looked at the table properly, you'd have noticed that Hong Kong was not removed, but rather moved to the "selected regional markets section" given that it's not a country but rather a region of China. Cite tool

Hi, which cite tool do you use for filling refs with CiteWeb format ?. I use reFill when an article has 5-10 unfilled refs and if I have the time, but I would like a similar tool that fetches the ref data directly when adding content. TGCP (talk) 17:38, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TGCP. Since I have been around on Wikipedia for several years, early on I made my own templates for the most used cite types on the default Windows Notepad (no format), so I do a manual cut and paste from this external file, and complete/fill as required. Yeah, I did that too but I am tired of it. I have installed User:Zhaofeng Li/CiteGen in FireFox. Just click on the {{}}-button in the menu line, and it makes a Cite from the webpage. Tesla Model 5

Hi, just wanted to discuss the self-driving reference you're making. The Tesla Model 5 is a Level 2 vehicle which is incapable of self-driving. This is supported by Elon Musk, his directors, and all expert sources. Self-driving requires level 4.

Much of the media is either being sensationalist or is ignorant of what self-driving actually means. We should work to be specific on wikipedia. Thanks.

All the reliable sources say it was in self-driving mode when the accident happens, you are confusing autonomous driving with just level 4, there are four or five levels by official definition of NHTSA and SAE, check the corresponding section in autonomous car. The Model S is between level 2 and 3, as explained and supported by reliable sources in the Tesla Model S article, see section about Autopilot. Level 3 requires the driver attention. Recent edits to "electric car use by country" regarding Estonia

Hi, @Mariordo: really appreciate your hard work sir.

I made the edits to the electric car usage article because I believe the vocabulary was flawed, but found you reverted them in your later edit. You said "40 to 60 km or no more than 60 km are not exclusive" in the reasoning for your edit, which I fully agree with. The problem I have with what was\is written is the grammar surrounding the usage of the word minimum in the "at a minimum distance between 40 to 60 km" statements.

First, minimum truly means smallest value. One could legitimately say there is a minimum of "40 to 60 km" and mean there are two locations in the whole country separated by 40 or so km. Sometimes minimum does get twisted to mean "at most", and common sense suggests that must have been the intention by the original references and thus our text. But "maximum" or "at most" or "no more than" are much cleaner words to be clearer on meaning.

Even more vital, there really can't be multiple minimums, at least without some kind of explanation suggesting they come about in different ways. The minimum (and maximum) temperature today were a specific and single value. If there are different minimums in different places\situations (such as on major highways versus secondary highways), then that should be indicated, or the greater value should be used for simplicity (probably best given it's a big expansive article subject).

Just seeking to make positive edits and improve meaning where possible. I gave my best try at researching the intended meaning through additional articles and changing the wording, but I certainly don't know the true setup in Estonia well, so perhaps since you are avid in the electric car circle, you know it better, and can better clarify the language. But as it sits, I'm set that the meaning is hazy in the words used. If you are uncertain or disagree with my viewpoint, perhaps one of us can ask a question at English or ELL Stack Exchange for a wider opinion. Sorry to distract from your busy editing, appreciate the heavy work you do.

Coincidentally, the Electric Vehicle Network article uses the phrase "at intervals of no more than 60 kilometres", for what it's worth. I'm about precision. So if worst comes to worst, perhaps we measure on http://elmo.ee/charging-network/ to get the true value. Though there's probably better ways we could each use our time!

We need to talk

For some time now, I have been trying to combat bloat in numerous articles related to electric vehicles. Editors like @Wtshymanski: have recently been deleting a lot of the kind of material I have been flagging as being overly promotional and sales or shopping oriented, or simply overly-detailed bloat. It's obvious that most of this deleted content was written by you. But you have not participated in any of the discussions of this, such as when multiple articles were de-listed from Good Article status as a direct result of your additions. You don't seem to be aware that large quantities of text that you have added is being removed en masse.

It's time for there to be a discussion about this with you and several editors working on automobile and electric vehicle articles. I opened a discussion in the talk, where it belongs, so consensus should be reached either way. And I am aware you are removing content in mass, I just do not think it is worthwhile to spend my time in Wikipedia arguing, but your last removal was too much. Table in Electric car use by country

Hi, I noticed you removed the table in "Statistics" in Electric car use by country. In my opinion, data written in table format and editable graphs are better than charts in pictures, since numbers can be reused and they can be easily updated. Tourism numbers

I see now that I have misunderstood your reference to page 8. I used "UNWTO World Tourism Barometer and Statistical Annex, December 2020", while you have used "International Tourism Highlights, 2020 Edition" for your update at International tourism, and there I see the number 89 for France. Rejuvenate WikiProject Skepticism

Hello - my name is Susan Gerbic (Sgerbic) and I'm writing to you because at some point you joined Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism. This might have been months ago - or even years ago. With the best of intentions the project was created years ago, and sadly like many WikiProjects has started to go dormant. A group of us are attempting to revitalize the Skepticism project, already we have begun to clean up the main page and I've just redone the participant page. No one is in charge of this project, it is member directed, which might have been the reason it almost went dormant. We are attempting to bring back conversations on the talk page and have two subprojects as well, in the hopes that it might spark involvement and a way of getting to know each other better. One was created several years ago but is very well organized and a lot of progress was made, Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skeptical organisations in Europe. The other I created a couple weeks ago, it is very simple and has a silly name Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skepticism Stub Sub-Project Project (SSSPP). This sub-project runs from March 1 to June 1, 2022. We are attempting to rewrite skepticism stubs and add them to this list. As you can see we have already made progress.

The reason I'm writing to you now is because we would love to have you come back to the project and become involved, either by working on one of the sub-projects, proposing your own (and managing it), or just hanging out on the talk page getting to know the other editors and maybe donate some of your wisdom to some of the conversations. As I said, no one is in charge, so if you have something in mind you would like to see done, please suggest it on the talk page and hopefully others will agree. Please add the project to your watchlist, update your personal user page showing you are a proud member of WikiProject Skepticism. And DIVE in, this is what the work list looks like [1] frightening at first glance, but we have already started chipping away at it.

The Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Participants page has gone though a giant change - you may want to update your information. And of course if this project no longer interests you, please remove your name from the participant list, we would hate to see you go, but completely understand.
