School article guidelines

You need to read WP:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines. If you wish to discuss those guidelines, see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Schools. Articles on schools are not aimed at parent's, that what official school websites are for, they are meant to be more like an article in an encyclopedia you'd find in a library, and should mainly be based on what other reliable sources say, not the school's site, where possible. I see you left a note on my talk page but it was removed as vandalism by another editor. Feel free to complain about me but I really don't think it would be helpful to you or the article as my edits followed the guidelines. Dougweller (talk) 06:21, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Civility and ownership

Please be civil when dealing with other editors. Also, nobody owns either individual article or their contributions to those articles. When you edit any Wikipedia page you give permission for other editors to further edit what you have written, and you cannot tell other people to leave your contributions alone, as you did at User:Dougweller. If you are not willing to accept that other people may disagree with your editing and consequently change or undo your edits, then Wikipedia is probably not the place for you. (Also, to help you for the future, any comment to another user should be made on a talk page, in this case User talk:Dougweller, not a user page, such as User:Dougweller.) Mistaken edit

When you accidentally nominated Hoagy Carmichael for speedy deletion, you could have simply edited the article to remove the speedy deletion tag. Someone else has removed it, so there is no harm done, but I thought it might help to let you know in case you make such mistakes again. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:12, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Vox (website), without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. I also welcome you; noticed your message on Czar's talkpage. If you need any help with anything, feel free to leave me a note (or Czar -- I'll happily shove some work their way :-)   ...for instant gratification, there are some options at WP:Q for various sorts of questions, many venues thereof will often have somebody responding within 24 hours, I particularly recommend the WP:TEAHOUSE for fast friendly response. This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)
