Image source problem with Image:Andy Milonakis.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Andy Milonakis.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:32, 23 October 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 00:32, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Phs baseball.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Phs baseball.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 04:17, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads

Hello,

I would like further clarification over the copyright status of two of your uploads, these being File:Palisadehs.jpg and File:PHS rb.jpg. You claim you created these images entirely yourself. Where did these images come from? Did you take the photos yourself using a camera, or did they come from elsewhere? If they did come from a camera, why is the resolution so low, and unlike your other uploads such as File:Phs baseball.jpg, why is there no camera metadata? CT Cooper · talk 15:45, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the fact of the matter is I have created all of those pictures, the fact of the matter is that the images were created by me, and then redistributed, and some were posted online. However, as president of the school's photography club and the man who took the pictures in question, I can assure you that they are not illegally posted. Furthermore, there is no camera data because I didn't, nor do I now, feel any reason or need to post the information, combined with the fact at the time I did not have the information readily available.. Now I have clearly stated that these photos are mine, and any further moves to remove them is just silly, and counter-productive. I took the pictures, and took them directly from my camera. As for the low res photos, they are older pictures, that I had compressed to fit on a zip-drive. Anything more? I truly enjoy having to justify myself every time I help Wikipedia.Mailman9 (talk) 01:09, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please post the camera data whenever you can because it acts as evidence of where the pictures came from, and is also helpful to those that look at the picture to see how it was taken. The reality is that Wikipedia has a serious problem with copyright violations, and a large number of users upload images claiming they are their own work when they are not, usually due to a lack of understanding of copyright matters. The use of low resolution made the pictures indistinguishable from those taken from the internet, and hence on the request of another admin I deleted them as a precaution, however given that you have provided a plausible explanation I will assume they are yours and will restore them. As for the questions, I would ask any user newish user who uploaded similar photos the same questions, and I see nothing unreasonable about it. CT Cooper · talk 09:10, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article assessments

Thank you for helping out at WikiProject School's assessment requests. However some of your assessments appear to be incorrect, and I have revised them, see the article talk pages for why. You may wish to view WP:ASSESS and WP:WPSCH/A#I as a guide to assessing articles. I would recommend leaving at least a short comment on an article's talk page giving some reasoning for the rating/importance you have given, plus possibly some further advise to other editors. I note you also assessed an article you have significantly contributed to, Palisade High School, as B-class and then a few days later as GA-class. While the article was better than a Stub, it wasn't really any higher than C-class, and I have now re-assessed it and left some comments at Talk:Palisade High School. It is not recommended that editors re-assess articles that they have significantly contributed to since, as has happened here, there is a tendency for them to overestimate the quality of an article. Also, an article cannot be given a rating higher than B-class unilaterally. For instance, articles that have been given GA must have gone through Wikipedia:Good article nominations. I would not recommend you nominate Palisade High School for GA at this time. CT Cooper · talk 16:20, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Colorado

The year 2011 has brought many changes to the State of Colorado. Several users have asked us to reactivate WikiProject Colorado. We have a new Governor and other state officers, two new U.S. Representatives, many new state legislators, and a new Mayor of Denver. Many articles about Colorado need to be updated and many Colorado places, people, and organizations need new articles. Portal:Colorado needs some new featured articles.

Can you help us? Please see our list of some requested articles. If you would like to remain an active member of WikiProject Colorado, please leave me a message at User talk:Buaidh or e-mail me at Special:EmailUser/Buaidh. If you cannot help right now, you can go to inactive status and then reactivate your status later. Thanks for any help you can provide. Yours aye,  Buaidh  17:16, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Palisade High School

I have re-assessed Palisade High School as per you request on WP:WPSCH/A. I have moved this article down to C-Class as per my comments on the articles talk page. I noted prior to my assessment that you had previously given the article a new rating, despite being a major contributor to it. Please note that this is not appropriate, as editors are often to close the the article, and may overestimate its quality. (I also note that CT Cooper has also previously made this same point) I would, however, like to thank you for taking in an active part in WP:WikiProject Schools, but would advise you read the assessment guidelines before assessing any more articles. Thanks, GlanisTalk 08:37, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Colorado

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Colorado, to which you are a member, may be inactive or semi-active and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. After reviewing the project it appears that there haven't been much active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the projects talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. Another user has added the project to the WPUS template and I added it to the list of supported projects in the WPUS main project page but before I take any further action I wanted to contact each of the active members for their input. --Kumioko (talk) 23:19, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for my first Wikipedia love!  Mailman9  (talk)  19:02, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As reviewing administrator, I think it's clear that he's notable. But the source you have used is not really sufficient--it's reliability is rather doubtful. There should be no shortage of better sources. DGG ( talk ) 08:55, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The same is true of Max Leo Keller , as was already noted above. Itis not really fair to expect other people to do this sort of basic work. The best practice is not to start an article until you have identified several good sources, so you can add them immediately. DGG ( talk ) 08:57, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Max Leo Keller was a translation work, not an original article. I brought over the only citation the German Page, as I mentioned when I replied to that comment here. However, I have added some new citations to Elias Benjamin Sanford, which I hope are more to Wikipedia's standards. Thanks for your vigilance, it's easy to get lax when writing articles on more obscure topics.  Mailman9  (talk)  20:06, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
