Description? or Manual??

Hi MZMcBride!

Please provide a short description of this tool.

What does the page-output "2/2 [1,2]" mean?

Thanks! Regards,  Kiefer.Wolfowitz

Hi.
Sorry for being so obscure. I didn't write the original version of this script, I simply inherited it.
The tool is used to compare the contributions of multiple users. This is an example. It compares your contributions, my contributions, and Jimbo's contributions. This particular example is limited to the article namespace (&namespace=0). Each row is a separate page. The "Similarity" column explains how many of the users have edited the listed page. For example, 50 Cent has been edited by two of the three users compared. To identify which two users (out of the three that were compared), there's a key at the top of the page that corresponds to each row. In this case, "2/3 [2, 3]" means that two of the three users matched for 50 Cent and they were user 2 (MZMcBride) and user 3 (Jimbo Wales). If you hover over the numbers in each row, the tooltip will tell you who the number corresponds to.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. --MZMcBride (talk) 16:57, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is helpful. BTW (20:17, 14 November 2011 (UTC)), you have exquisite taste in articles, but the other fellow needs to improve his choices! ;)
I would suggest adding a caution to the tool, e.g.
  • This tool is only a tool, which describes the overlapping pages of two or more editors.
  • It fails to disclose any of the pages edited by exactly one of the editors, and these non-overlapping ("discordant") pages must be considered when evaluating hypotheses of sock-puppetry or meat-puppetry.
  • It is considered extremely rude and possibly a personal attack to report the raw results from this tool, without conducting a further analysis of the discordant pages, and using your intelligence. Credible allegations of sock-puppetry and meat-puppetry must be based on intelligent analysis of this output and other information.
That is just a rough suggestion.
Thanks for your quick help.
