I only started editing WP with an account in 2004, but I had edited under IP addresses for about a year before that (less often). I've managed to rack up a few blocks during those years :-). A few bogus, mostly more-or-less legitimate cases of excessive protectiveness about articles. However, my history is a bit harder to read than many, since most of the disputes I have been involved with were ones that involved various administrators on both sides; it has a lot of examples of conflicting editors blocking/unblocking/reblocking. Perhaps there's a good point here that admins are just regular people too, no less impulsive or hot-tempered than other editors, on average.

It might be worth compacting my block history:

1. On 2005 May 16, Gentgeen blocked me for 48 hours, but on reflection reduced the block time to 15 minutes. That block was on the level, and some such warning was definitely appropriate.
2. On 2005 September 4, Bratsche blocked me for 24 hours. However, that block was by an editor/admin highly involved in the same dispute, so a bit improper. I got over it.
3. On 2006 May 16 I definitely violated 3RR after getting too wrapped up in an edit war. I asked admin MONGO to block me for the record. However, Cyde jumped in to get even for an unrelated dispute. So that had several editors going back and forth adding then decreasing/increasing the block. I guess the final duration was 2 hours 28 minutes.
4. On 2007 July 2 I was blocked for 24 hours. This one was legit, though happily the other parties were blocked at the same time, so it served its purpose all around.
5. On 2007 August 2, another legitimate 24 hour block.
6. On 2008 February 9 there was a bogus 48 hour block. I hadn't been warned, and had only 2 reverts, and think the admin had been led astray by an inaccurate 3RR report, but I also didn't even notice the block until it had expired since I wasn't at all actively editing during that time.
7. On 2009 December 1 2over0 blocked me for 48 hours based on a false 3RR report about which I was not notified (one actual revert, several other non-revert edits to the same article section). Shortly after I noticed the block, I requested unblock, which Steve Smith did, 3 hours 42 minutes after block was placed.
