Thanks for uploading Image:Mdh.gif. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ResurgamII 16:32, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re
Thanks for commenting on this. I will review the case of Narayan and the others you mentioned. Rabindranath Tagore has written poetry saturated with Vedic imagery and Vaishnavite devotion, and translated Kabir. I included Amrita Pritam because I haven't yet found many modern Sikh writers - maybe she can be replaced with better examples. Vivekanda and Dayananda are missing because the template says "1900 to present". I had to restrict the time frame - otherwise the list of authors for the template would tend to be too big. Maybe we could say "1875 to present" instead? Tilak is somewhere between the 19th and 20th century, and could be included, as also some of the others you mention, and you can include them if you like. The template is young, it will mature with time. --Bondego 21:04, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Dariyal,
please correct the article Bramhastra. I thought of cleaning it up. But it was so grossly badly written that I didnt feel like doing something minor. I think you should have a go at it.

Re: Depth value for Hindi Wikipedia
Yes, the reason is quite obvious ... in Bangla Wikipedia, we have shifted our focus from increasing article count to increasing article quality. Unforunately, most of the other south asian wikipedias do the opposite ... I did a quick check at Nepal Bhasha, Telegu, Hindi, Marathi, Bishnupriya Manipuri, and most of the articles there seemed to be written by bots and had only a single sentence, or even worse ... only a table generated by the Bot.
While we did have about 3000-4000 bot generated articles on Indian cities, we have stopped doing that. We now focus on content, and only write articles if we have enough content to fill a screen. I guess that's why the "Depth" parameter has such a high value for Bangla Wikipedia.
I suggest that you focus on content generation rather than increasing article count, and disallow creation of one-liners, table-only stubs by bots. That ought to increase your article quality gradually.
Bottom line ... just leave the rat race for article count, . Thanks. --Ragib (talk) 22:33, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, users should be allowed to create short articles in their topic ... but not extremely short stubs. For a random sampling, I checked out Hindi Wikipedia, and hit ctrl-x for 10 random articles. The majority (8) of them were either empty shells (with an brief infobox), one-liners (looked like "X is YZ"), or bot generated article whose total info content can be summarized in 1 short sentence. Asking the users to at least provide 3 to 4 sentences will go a long way towards making content richer. There would always be many users trying to create the bot-generated empty shells ... but at the end of the day, those serve no purpose other than giving a false sense of pride (in terms of number of entries). You might notice that in Bangla Wikipedia, we rapidly crossed 10,000 in 2006, but then stopped increasing article count. At one time, Bangla was one of the two South Asian wikipedias in 10K+ list. But we chose to focus on quality, have more and more featured level content. Just check the recent changes in bn you'll see that most new additions are at least one paragraph long.
Anyway, hope at least some users in Hi will look back into this and change their strategies. :) Cheers! --Ragib (talk) 23:13, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Employee State Insurance Corporation Logo.png
Thanks for uploading File:Employee State Insurance Corporation Logo.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
On 1 March 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that RSBY, the National Health Insurance Programme of India, offers cashless health insurance of up to ₹ 30,000 to the poor for just ₹ 30? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.
As you are part of WikiProject India community we invite you to be there for conference and share your experience. Thank you for your contributions.
We look forward to see you at Mumbai on 18-20 November 2011

Non-free rationale for File:Rsj cover.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Rsj cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:
It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.
At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).
Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.
If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasit | c 17:23, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on Haryana Tourism Corporation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.
