ArbCom 2018 election voter message
Hello, LightPirate. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

User warnings
Hi LightPirate - and welcome to Wikipedia! I haven't come here to give you a hard time, but I wanted to talk to you about giving other users vandalism warnings. I recently came across an edit by a fairly new account, adding some unsourced content to an article. I reverted it, partly because of the lack of sourcing, and also because it appeared to be speculation. When I arrived at the editor's talk page, I found a Level 4im vandalism warning, which had been left there by you a few days ago. I reviewed the recent contributions, but I couldn't find anything that looked like vandalism to me - yes, stuff that probably needed reverting, but everything looked like it could easily have been good faith efforts from a new, possibly young, editor.
Vandalism warnings should only be given if you are in no doubt whatsoever that the user's intention was to harm the encyclopedia - adding profanity or abuse, repeatedly blanking content, that sort of thing. A level 4im vandalism warning should only be given in two circumstances - either when the editor has been making numerous vandalistic edits but has not yet been warned, or when the user makes an egregiously offensive edit, such as inserting hate speech into an article targeted at a particular group. Unless I'm missing something major, neither of these was the case with this particular user, who appears simply to be an inexperienced editor with an interest in dinosaurs.
That's all I have to say really - go easy on the vandalism warnings, especially the 4im ones, which should only come out very rarely. Hi Girth Summit! I agree with you on the warning; it was too harsh so I removed it. I think I got too caught up into his username because, in my opinion, it draws negative attention which made me think that his edit was not made in good-faith. I want to improve the encyclopedia so I help with reverting vandalism with twinkle to to so.LightPirate (talk) 21:28, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi LightPirate. After reviewing your request, I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2022-01-31. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
