File permission problem with File:Breaking Ground - Community Art Quilt by artist Laurie Swim (2000).jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Breaking Ground - Community Art Quilt by artist Laurie Swim (2000).jpg, which you've attributed to Larry Goldstein. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nthep (talk) 17:38, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

Please help me with...deletion of image. Owner does not want image to be used for commercial purposes.

Laurieswimwiki (talk) 15:13, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, which image? Please {{ping}} me in your response. ——Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 16:31, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Skyllfully: There are two. Eve's Apple (1976) by artist Laurie Swim.jpg and From my From My Backyard by artist Laurie Swim (2008).jpg Also need to get the other two photos "legal". Do I simply need an email from the owner? Where does the email/proof of use get sent? Sorry I"m a total newbie to the site. Laurieswimwiki (talk) 17:26, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Skyllfully: Hi me again. Sorry just read through permissions. Disregard my last two questions. I just need to delete the images. Laurieswimwiki (talk) 17:31, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! Everyone makes mistakes and learns from them on Wikipedia, one way or another, and I appreciate your compliance. I'll place a {{db-g7}} on those images and we can go on! Marking as  Helped. —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 17:35, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

Please help me with...Image permissions. Owner is fine with the use of the images on Wiki but does not want to agree to the terms listed on template for images permissions that states the images are free to be be used for commercial purposes. Can I simply omit this line in the standard permissions email?

Laurieswimwiki (talk) 17:49, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The owner can omit that line, but then Wikipedia will treat the image as non-free (ie its use on Wikipedia will have to comply with the non-free content criteria); the Commons will not host it at all. Huon (talk) 17:58, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Huon: Thanks, I'll look into it. Laurieswimwiki (talk) 18:26, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just to avoid misunderstandings: By "treat the image as non-free", I mean that from a "use on Wikipedia" point of view there is no difference between a granted non-commercial license and no granted license at all. Huon (talk) 18:29, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Huon: No worries. As it is artwork, I think will just let Wiki visitors discover the artist from a link to her own website. Thank again for the clarification Laurieswimwiki (talk) 18:34, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
