A tag has been placed on Category:Fictional rogue planets requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

We already have Category:Rogue planets in fiction.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —usernamekiran(talk) 00:55, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

Missing RfD tags on redirects

Please make sure that when you are nominating redirects that you tag the redirects you are nominating with {{Rfd}}. I just fixed 2 redirects you did not tag: [1] and [2]. Disambiguation link notification for January 19

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Intonjane, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Homestead (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:14, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

I was unaware that I was linking to a dab. However, it looks like the correct sense is that mentioned at the top of the page. LaundryPizza03 (talk) 00:43, 20 January 2018 (UTC)

Hello

I'm sorry but I think it would be better if you did not use the technical move request for a time. The recent requests you have made such as this one Hebrew language and this one have been completely outside and beyond what is uncontroversial. Is that okay? Possible copyright violation on Mark Sandler

Hi! The Mark Sandler page appears to have text copied word-for-word from this source:

"2014 elevated fellow". IEEE Fellows Directory. {{cite web}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |dead-url= (help)

I'm uncertain if that was actually a copyright violation, because the phrase may be too short to be copyrightable or the page it was copied from may be in the public domain.

fair use rationale fir screenshot

I noticed that you tagged File:Dangerous Curves.jpg for deletion. When you encounter a screenshot with an inadequate fair use rationale, you should consider whether it would be appropriate to add the standard text "for identification of and critical commentary on the television program and its contents" to the rationale rather than tagging it for deletion. I have added the standard rationale and removed the speedy tag. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 20:36, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

A brief word

Just a quick word about what notability is – a topic qualifies if it is supported by multiple reliable sources, somewhere in the world. They do not have to be online – a single manuscript copy in a remote monastery could be such a source – and still less do they have to be actually in the article. This matters when considering articles for deletion, as it means we have to make reasonable efforts to check whether sources exist: it is no good just looking at the article. So, a totally unsourced article on a topic that has been extensively written about is notable, while an elegantly sourced piece of puffery about a non-notable book or person might not be. moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, , does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 19:13, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

Your A7 speedy of Phạm Đoan Trang

Hi LaundryPizza03 -- I've declined this deletion request and worked a bit to establish Trang's notability, which now seems fairly clear. It's not required to pop the name into Google before requesting deletion, but can save everyone time where there are many sources readily available in English to support notability, as well as being polite to the original contributor. Template:Scientists whose names are used as SI units

I would be interested to hear in what way you think this information is indiscriminate. WP:IINFO is focused on excessively long insertions of primary information. This template is a very small, precisely defined group of only twenty members. SpinningSpark 17:54, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

  • It's not an encyclopedic trait of these people. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:10, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
    • So how would you distinguish this template from, say, Template:Nobel Prize in Physics? The members are no more connected in general. Or perhaps you would be in favour of deleting that one too? I'm struggling to understand your position. SpinningSpark 21:14, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
      • Trivial. Is that adequate enough? –LaundryPizza03 (d) 00:44, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

You left this query at the deleted talk page Template talk:Requires attention:

I deleted the English template, but I'm not an admin on that Wiki, and it's up to that community to determine whether they want to keep their template or not. Decisions made on enwiki aren't binding anywhere else. If you want to delete it there, I suggest either finding a Bhojpuri admin, or following whatever process they have for deletions. If you're going to nominate an article for deletion, it helps to create a discussion page for its deletion.

Also, there are plenty of entries on this list that are not in List of nuclides, so rather than deleting the article, if the page must die, it should be merged. Serendipodous 17:31, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

In this edit to {{relevance inline}} you attempted to turn Category:Wikipedia articles that may have off-topic sections into a dated maintenance category, but you didn't do everything that's required for that to work correctly. You'll need to add the appropriate templates to the category page, and create a few more pages those depend on. See Wikipedia:Creating a dated maintenance category for details. I noticed the explain tag you added to the article. Although it will require some research on my part, I'm willing to have a go at addressing the issue, but I want to make sure I'm clear on what the issue is first. Your signature

Please be aware that your signature uses deprecated <font> tags, which are causing Obsolete HTML tags lint errors. Also, your signature is using substitution to evade the prohibition against signatures longer than 255 characters; it says at WP:SIGLEN, "The software will automatically truncate both plain and raw signatures to 255 characters of code in the Signature field. If substitution of templates or another page is used, please be careful to verify that your signature does not violate the 255-character length limit when the templates are expanded...."

I was able to construct a signature string for you just under the limit at 253 characters, using HTML5-compliant markup, by using 3-digit colors that match your 6-digit colors almost exactly.

Message added 08:24, 28 July 2019 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

You requested a histmerge in this case. You are not a clerk and it is not your job to request any kind of procedural manipulation of reports at SPI. The merge unfortunately was done, and it will now need to be reversed and the request I made of an SPI clerk, which you could not failed to have seen, will ultimately be done. It has created a lot of unnecessary work for several administrators. Please do not do this again.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:11, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

In case you weren't watching the page, there was a consensus to "speedy keep" the redirects you nominated here. You can read the other editors' comments for yourself, but as the admin who closed the discussion, I just wanted to point out that you are welcome to resubmit a smaller group or individual nominations for any of these redirects that you do strongly believe are inappropriate. However, any new nominations are not terribly likely to succeed unless you can provide a more convincing argument than just a link to an essay. –Darkwind (talk) 17:07, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, LaundryPizza03

Thank you for creating Overspecialization.

User:Spicy, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Thanks for writing this article - I was surprised to see that it didn't exist yet. Nice job with the categories, I was really struggling to think of which categories to add before I realized you had already put them in as a comment. When writing about medical content, please keep WP:MEDRS in mind. For major claims like "However, specializing too narrowly leads to poor training; unnecessary health care; low-quality care, especially in regions with poor medical infrastructure; and knowledge that can rapidly become outdated. Overspecialization detracts from physicians' ability to identify and treat problems in patients." we should really be using the best possible sources, i.e. recent review articles and textbooks. It looks like there are a ton of potential MEDRS sources on Pubmed and Google Books, so it should not be hard to improve the "medicine" section. You can also ask for help with this on WP:WikiProject Medicine.

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Spicy}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Disambiguation link notification for June 3

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited AEIOU-TIPS, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ecstasy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
