Speedy deletion of The Mercurymen

A tag has been placed on The Mercurymen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TNX-Man 14:18, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tag removal on The Mercurymen

Hi! I noticed that you removed the issue tags on the above page. While I agree that the notability of the subject is now no longer in doubt, could you provide some references to the article? Generally, "external links" sections are links to first party websites (in this case, the band's website and MySpace profile) and are not suitable for referencing. I'm sure there must be a relevant review of the band somewhere? Good luck, and keep up the editing! Booglamay (talk) - 19:29, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've started the references off, using a link you'd used in the body of the article. Hopefully this will get you started - if you've got any questions, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Booglamay (talk) - 19:31, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:The Gala Ensemble.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:The Gala Ensemble.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
