Teaching with Wikipedia?

Hi, Kenitzer! I noticed you completed the instructor training a few months ago but haven't heard anything from you about any class you may be teaching. Please ping me (on my talk page or at jami@wikiedu.org) if you're teaching with Wikipedia this term. I'd like to make sure you have the support and training materials you need! Campus Guidance

Hi there! I'm Kevin, a sophomore undergrad at Ohio State. I've been a Wikipedia editor for a few years now, and have recently started getting involved with the Wikipedia Education program with the intent of expanding support for fellow students on-campus. As a to-be campus ambassador for Ohio State, I'm looking forward to opportunities to help get students accommodated with editing, especially in the classroom setting - it's very exciting to see how Wikipedia's being used for teaching.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm here as a resource for you and your students, if needed. You definitely appear to be doing a great job with course content and advising your students. I'm still happy to provide support on Wikipedia if needed, as well as willing to provide face-to-face guidance for students in the classroom or elsewhere on-campus (whether it be article formatting, template help, licensing info, etc.). If this is something you think would be useful, feel free to shoot me an email at payravi.1 with your thoughts and we can discuss details. Thanks so much - and go Bucks! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 06:34, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Change in your user rights

Your Wikipedia account was previously granted a user right called "course instructor" by the Wiki Education Foundation. That right enabled you to create a course page through the EducationProgram MediaWiki extension. Starting in fall 2015, the Wiki Education Foundation has discontinued its use of this extension. Going forward, users should create course pages through the Wiki Education Foundation website. That application is more user-friendly, and any content is automatically mirrored to Wikipedia. To prevent confusion, we'll be removing your "course instructor" user right, as it is not needed with the new system. This is simply a notification of the technical change to your account. No action is needed from you at this time.

If you plan on teaching with Wikipedia for the fall 2015 term, please email me (helaine@wikiedu.org) for instructions how to create your next course page using our new system. --Helaine (Wiki Ed) (talk), sent by MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:34, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
