Speedy deletion nomination of Karthik Padala

Hello Karthik Padala,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Karthik Padala for deletion, because it doesn't seem to have any encyclopedic content.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Antidiskriminator (talk) 18:51, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Karthik Padala. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Karthik Padala. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. A tag has been placed on User:Karthik Padala requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi

Sorry you've had a bad start here. But, Wikipedia may not be what you think it is. It's an encyclopaedia, not social media. This means that, unlike at Facebook, you can't just post a page about yourself. In articles, notability must be shown. See WP:BIO for details, and remember that under WP:AUTOBIO you aren't supposed to write about yourself. All articles should have the notability proved with reliable independent sources (references) - see WP:RS about that. Right, that's articles. Now for user pages. These are for people who are editing the encyclopaedia (and I mean more than just one or two edits) so they can tell us a bit about themselves. Not biographies, and only for people who work here (or have worked here). They aren't for just anyone to post their profile, or worse, post their CV. OK? Feel free to ask questions. I'll be watching this page for a few days. (Not 'Big Brother' type watching - just being ready to answer questions.) Peridon (talk) 21:20, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm 1997kB. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Adah Sharma, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! – 1997kB 04:49, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Disha Patani. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. As her manager you have a conflict of interest. You should make suggestions on her talk page rather than trying to turn the article into an advertising profile. Wow, some of those edits were super-obnoxious. Wikipedia is a neutral encyclopedia, Karthik. "With her gorgeous looks and amazing dance moves she is truly the promising star of the film industry." Are you kidding? We're not here to drool over people, dude and we certainly don't present opinions as facts. And even language like "it grabbed a lot of eye- balls" is just not the right tone expected of an encyclopedia. We don't use casual tone or slang to write about things. Note also that if you are her manager or whatever you claim to be, you have a very clear conflict of interest, which is a significant ethical consideration, and you are strongly discouraged from editing that article at all. Disha Patani

In reference to your email I can't change the page back. If I did someone else would remove it. I understand that she wants to present the best view of herself, all people do. However, the subject does not get to control the article that is about them. Take a look at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biographies to see how biographies should be. Please don't email details of what Disha Patani wants in the article. Instead what you should do is post suggestions at Talk:Disha Patani and let others enter the information for you. Thanks. I strongly recommend you read WP:COI and refrain from editing articles where you have a direct connection to the subject. There has been an allegation that you are here primarily for promotional reasons. If you want to suggest edits you can do so on the article talk page. Welcome!

Hello, Karthik Padala, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Disha Patani, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome!
