Feedback on 4.20 draft

KLi32 - What an outstanding draft! I am flagging user:Gobonobo to take a look at the draft here in your sandbox to see if ze has any specific feedback.

My suggestion is to consider creating a general statement about global youth and punk subculture. Could you find one piece about how sociology theorizes non-Western participation in subcultures thought of as originating in Europe or North America? I believe there has been useful work that could be presented from a neutral standpoint about cultural transmission and local appropriation of global cultures. Pam Nilan and Carlos Feixa published an edited volume, Global Youth?. I have it in my office if you'd like to look; it might be useful.

Please edit for tense; some tense is present, other past. Also, can you incorporate urban tribes into your Mexico and Peru sections?

If you are feeling really ambitious, Israel or Palestine might be a section. I also profiled a punk band in China when I worked there, and there is a bit of coverage on the topic.

Great work, KLi32!Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 21:11, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
