Hi Jim, my page K.D.Satyam has been deleted and it says "Unambiguous Advertising or promotion, well I am a film maker from Bollywood India, and I was trying to update the legitimate information. I may be new to Wikipedia and probably I was unaware of the rules to do it. But I can assure you that in future will take care of the rules, therefore please put back my page, would really appreciate that. Regards K.D.SatyamK. D. The Globe Post wikipedia page was created last week, but it was deleted due to "Unambiguous advertising or promotion." It is a news outlet based in Washington D.C. Please let me know how we can make this right. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by AhmetSelim12 (talk • contribs) 18:03, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, K. D. Satyam, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hi, I notice that you have posted what appears to be a message to me at the top of this page. I will only see messages if you put them on my talk page. Alternatively, you can leave a message on this page, and I will know you have done so if you start it with my user name, User:Jimfbleak and sign it with four tildes ~~~~ when you post it. That will send me an alert. I deleted your article because

  • It did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to you or your company, press releases, social media, IMDB and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the you claim or interviewing you. Several of your references did not meet those criteria. The ones I checked included IMDB, blogs and reviews of your film. At least one (ref 4, cinemarkets, was dead). Note that references should not be bare urls. Even if you think you met our notability criteria, you must provide genuinely independent third-party sources.
  • Unsurprisingly for a self-written page, it was written in a highly promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic.
  • The article is supposed to be about you, but you have a whole section consisting of cherry-picked reviews of your films. There shouldn't be any reviews of your films. Either they are notable enough to make you notable, or they are not. We don't need to be told how wonderful they are, that's just spam
  • The only thing that should be bolded is the first occurrence of you name, but you frequently bold phrases where you have written something nice about yourself, eg Must not miss this aspirational Bollywood saga, or to emphasise your awards.
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. Thank you for declaring your interest. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that you are notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also guidance for editors with conflicts of interest and writing about yourself.

I am prepared to restore the page as a draft for you to find proper references, but I'll edit out the worst of the spam, which you should not restore. If you are prepared to proceed on those terms, let me know. Alternatively you could rewrite from scratch, following this guidance; if you do so, write as a draft Draft: K. D. Hi, Jim... Thanks for making me understand the overall approach towards the Wikipedia page. Well, I have gone through the guidelines like "Five Pillars of Wikipedia" and almost understood the things and I can assure you that in future I would strictly follow the guidelines. So please go ahead and edit the matter on the page which you think is not correct and restore the page according to the guidelines. I completely agree with you on this... Regards K.D.SatyamK.D.Satyam (talk) 07:41, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
restored at Draft:K. D. Satyam. I made these edits. Also check the history for intermediate edits. Because of your COI, you should not WP:Edit war with other users like Onel5969. Early versions of this article were fairly acceptable, and it's your addition of spam to the article that led to its problems. If I were you, I'd be inclined to just improve the references and don't be tempted to expand the text Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:22, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User: Jimfbleak Thank You, Jim, Thank you very much for restoring the page. I really appreciate that. I hope the page will soon fall in the main space and as I said earlier I will be very precise for the future corrections.. once again Thank you so much.
