Information icon Hello, I'm Puddleglum2.0. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! -- puddleglum2.0 18:42, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I hope you're staying well during these times. Before reverting your changes again to the Paul Thompson article, I wanted to know if you had any sources to back up the claim that he served in the military. Wikipedia has very strict guidelines regarding articles about living people, so any major claim like the one you added will require a reference. I hope this makes sense; if it doesn't, please feel more than welcome to drop me a note on my talk page, and we can discuss this further. Thanks, and again, stay safe! All the best, -- puddleglum2.0 20:15, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Page" versus "Article"

Wikipedia has articles, which everyone (within limits) can edit. An article about a living person is not 'owned' by that person or their representatives. Wikipedia allows editing by people who are paid, but is very, very, very touchy about the process. A paid editor must declare so on their User page, either using the template or just writing so. Paid editors are forbidden from directly editing the article in question. Multiple editors have reversed your changes. Accept that you are pursuing the wrong path. For example, content without references not allowed. What Paul tells you not allowed. Does not matter if true - verification by independent sources mandatory. The proper path is for you to create a new section at the Talk page of the article, and there specify changes you want, as in add ____ to section, or replace ____ with ____. References required. You then tag it with a reviewer request and an editor will look at your proposed changes and either accept or decline. Don't put all your changes in one massive request. This can work, its just tedious. David notMD (talk) 13:41, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
