Nobscot and Saxonville

Hey related to our previous discussion, I have some new answers. The building next to the Hemenway School has been restored. It was not the station itself; it was the post office, and one window also sold train tickets.

What you say is the Saxonville station is definitely not the station building but an old carriage house]. However, I do believe the roof is from the station - it was refitted to the carriage house at a later date. Cheers, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 03:18, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

Burger King

What is your relationship with Burger King? You seem - based on your contributions - to be rather obsessed with it... also, why did you add a template to the Olayan Group despite their small participation in Burger King? The template that you added to their Wikipedia article clearly misrepresents the Olayan Group's involvement with or dependence upon Burger King which is a small part of their portfolio... Stevenmitchell (talk) 02:59, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

  1. I worked for a now defunct franchise of Burger King. I'm using that knowledge to do these articles. I used to do other stuff, but after a series of bad interactions with some users that were not assuming good faith here on Wikipedia, I've cut back to the stuff that pretty much won't be contested. And before you ask, I am not a paid editor, have ever been compensated for editing nor edited as part of my job duties.
  1. The Olayan Group is the master franchise for the entire Middle East, excluding Israel and Turkey. In other words, they are the direct or indirect or owner or supervisor of every single Burger King in about 15 different countries. I wouldn't call that a small part of their operations. They are in the same class as Hungry Jack's, The master franchise for Australia. The owner of Hungry Jack's also has a whole other series of businesses of which Hungry Jack's is just one part of.

Information icon Hello, I'm Garchy. I noticed that you recently removed some content from List of oyster bars without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I have restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I noticed your mass removal of oyster bars that didn't have Wikipedia pages - a good portion of them had references attached - just because they don't have a Wikipedia page doesn't mean they do not fit into significance and notability guidelines. Thank you. Garchy (talk) 15:23, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

  • Remove list items w/o entries on WP is a very straight forward explanation. It means, per the page notice that is displayed at the top of the page when you go to edit that or any other similar page, that I removed items that do not have their own Wikipedia (abbreviated as WP) page. The criteria outlined in the page notice is designed to keep the contents of these list pages with in the guidelines of Wikipedia, such as - including but not limited to - WP:What Wikipedia is not. There are three types of entries that should not be placed in these lists, and they are the ones I removed:
  1. WP:Redlinks - links to articles that have not been created. Please see WP:Write the article first
  2. WP:External links - Links to external pages. Please see WP:Not a directory
  3. Entries that are not linked to any existing article.
As I stated, these simple guidelines are there to keep the lists from becoming cluttered with links to external pages and unwritten articles.
  • Please read WP:Do not template the regulars before you plaster templates such as the one you posted on my page on other experienced editor's pages. Bad form.

Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 18:40, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Unfortunately most of the pages you link to above are essays, meaning they are not official Wikipedia guidelines - redlinks are in fact not a negative thing on Wikipedia (WP:REDYES) - they are used to encourage new article creation. External links AS REFERENCES are quite different than linking to external links - don't get the two confused (WP:REF). I am not a new user myself, I limit myself to using templates on talk pages to those who require them (again, you cite an essay WP:ADVICEPAGE - for example, someone removing a large amount of content without a legitimate rationale - instead of taking it as insult I would use it as a learning opportunity - not everyone is going to agree with you removing the information you did - there is no clear regulation or rule that says your removal of REFERENCED material is ok, which you why you received a template asking you to not remove content from a page. Cheers! Garchy (talk) 21:36, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
I understand your point, after further reading - will avoid redlinks MOS:LIST. Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).

Brad Blum article

I understand why the edits I made last month were taken down and the article reverted to the previous content. I am not paid by Brad Blum, but on his behalf wanted to at least correct his birth year and include a photo with the article. Is this acceptable? Based on my edit to his birth year and uploading a photo, does the article need to be flagged as having neutrality issues? I have made no other changes to the original article. TWL HighBeam check-in

Hello Wikipedia Library Users,

You are receiving this message because the Wikipedia Library has record of you receiving a one-year subscription to HighBeam. This is a brief update to remind you about that access:

  • Make sure that you can still log in to your HighBeam account; if you are having trouble feel free to contact me for more information. When your access expires you can reapply at WP:HighBeam.
  • Remember, if you find this source useful for your Wikipedia work, make sure to include citations with links on Wikipedia: links to partner resources are one of the few ways we can demonstrate usage and demand for accounts to our partners. The greater the linkage, the greater the likelihood a useful partnership will be renewed. For more information about citing this source, see Wikipedia:HighBeam/Citations
  • Write unusual articles using this partner's sources? Did access to this source create new opportunities for you in the Wikipedia community? If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, let us know and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services the Wikipedia Library can offer.

Thank you. 20:35, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

Closing discussions

Hi Jerem43. I noticed your ORCP poll. Given your long tenure on the site, I think you might be a good fit to help work through the backlog at some of the more fringe deletion processes, especially WP:CFD. You can read more in my "call for closers" at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Call_for_CfD_Closers. Closing discussions is an excellent way to get more involved in the administrative side of the project, help clear a very large and important backlog, and show that you have the temperament and skills necessary to become an administrator. If you're interested, I'd be happy to mentor you to get you up to speed with how to close CfD discussions. Let me know if this is something that might interest you. ~ Rob13Talk 20:47, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Crispus Attucks.png

Thank you for uploading File:Crispus Attucks.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
