Greetings

I enjoyed reading your rant, and I must say I often feel similarly about the assessment people (although it's a good thing to have some sort of tier structure of article quality, the GA procedure is a travesty now) -- and about the so-called "Essjay controversy". Every community needs people doing the selfless job of calling the sycophants and apparatchiks sycophants and apparatchiks (respectively :) dab (𒁳) 20:56, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MetsBot functionality

Please ensure that your bot is functioning in article mainspace, and not userspace as it did with User:SwissCelt/Youngstown. Thank you. -- SwissCelt 20:42, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry for editing if you don't want bots editing your userspace, but for a task such as the one my bot was performing, if the bot had not made the edit, the infobox would have stopped working on all the pages the bot skipped, so therefore I deemed it appropriate to edit all occurances of the infobox, no matter what namespace they were in. —METS501 (talk) 21:07, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Boardman

For your information: after explaining my reasons for disagreeing with the Boardman merger, I left a neutral message on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ohio and the talk pages of OHWiki, Prinzwilhelm, and Twelsht; although different on each page, the message reads something like this:

"A merger has been proposed (and disputed) for Boardman, Ohio and Boardman Township, Mahoning County, Ohio. Please offer your opinions on the Boardman, Ohio talk page."

Thanks, Nyttend! I'm certain that, regardless of the outcome, this debate will improve the articles in WikiProject Ohio. -- SwissCelt 20:08, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Youngstown assessment

SwissCelt, I have started assessing WP:Youngstown articles. You can view the project page at Wikipedia:WikiProject Youngstown/Article Classification. I have assessed about half of the Youngstown-related articles and will work on the rest in the coming days. If you come across a Youngstown-related article which hasn't been assessed, please feel free to do so. Artles needing assessment can be viewed at Category:Unassessed Youngstown articles. Thanks, Daysleeper47 00:56, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps I should have read your Rant of the Moment. My apologies for troubling you with my assessment. That said, Youngstown, Ohio is up for FA nom again and could use some assistance; see the comments left on the talk page. --Daysleeper47 02:58, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry about it. I'm actually honored that you would ask me, although for obvious reasons I'll have to respectfully decline to assess any articles. I certainly can help improve articles, though. -- SwissCelt 03:04, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My adminship

Thanks for pushing me to go for adminship! My nomination has passed, 39-1-0, so I now have the tools..."With great power comes great responsibility". Nyttend 05:47, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dream Center

Dear SwissCelt,

I volunteered at the Dream Center during Hurricane Katrina evacuees' stay there. I am interested about your comments re: the misappropriation of donations. I have firsthand knowledge.

Cultural imperialism

I know this comment was made over two years ago, but I find it hilarious, so take this star of good humor. ALTON .ıl 06:43, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:WCVJ-FM logo.png

Thanks for uploading Image:WCVJ-FM logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:27, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:WCVJ-FM logo.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:WCVJ-FM logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
