Thank you, Klortho! I am trying out the talk pages to get accustomed to using Wikipedia a bit. Thanks for the support!

You are welcome! You'll get to this in the tutorial materials, but when responding to a comment on a talk page, in addition to signing your post, you should indent it, with a colon (or two, or three) at the beginning of the line. Cheers! Klortho (talk) 04:37, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page that you created was tagged as a test page and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  Bulldog73  Bark  03:35, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Jamie. It looks like you accidentally created a page in the root namespace of Wikipedia. I'm guessing you used a backslash ("\") instead of a slash ("/") to create the page. So, it got deleted. Let me know if you have any questions. Klortho (talk) 14:42, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Klortho, Oops! That explains why I got the message above! Thanks! Jberendt (talk) 02:16, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Partners!

Hi Jamie, It looks like we'll be partnering up for the wiki assignment for this course! I'm pretty excited about contributing, I've never actually edited any wikipedia page before. I look forward to showing my friends and family the end result, including the bioinformaticians at work =). Tisquestra (talk) 07:06, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tisquestra, I have never edited Wikipedia either. It is rather fun to know we will be contributing to such a vast encyclopedia! Jberendt (talk) 02:29, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unit 7 article location

Hey Jamie, we're supposed to choose one of our sandboxes to put up this week's assignment. I was thinking yours since it is currently cleaner than mine (although mine isn't too crazy either). Let me know what you prefer, I don't mind either way! I have a family friend visiting til Wednesday, so I wanted to get a bit of an earlier start on this week's assignment, in case I'm not as responsive closer to the deadline. I'll be putting up some articles that I find on our group talk page. See you there!Tisquestra (talk) 07:32, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, either page is fine. I had asked on our group talk page about yours but mine is fine so let's just do that. I have things going on too but at a different time. My youngest turns one next week so we are preparing for a family party this weekend! In other words, I will be doing more of my work after the weekend. I will check out what you get done and be aware that you may or may not be available immediately. Good luck and thanks! Jberendt (talk) 13:10, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help us improve the Wikipedia Education Program

Hi Jberendt! As a student editor on Wikipedia, you have a lot of valuable experience about what it's like to edit as a part of a classroom assignment. In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it's extremely helpful to hear from real student editors about their challenges, successes, and support needs. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions by clicking below. (Note that the responses are posted to a public wiki page.) Thanks!

Disambiguation link notification for May 11

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Fluorescent tag, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Posterior (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
